The central exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong and the USD announced by the State Bank today is 24,278 VND/USD, down 5 VND compared to yesterday.

Applying a 5% margin, commercial banks are allowed to trade today at a ceiling rate of VND25,492/USD and a floor rate of VND23,064/USD.

The reference USD exchange rate at the State Bank of Vietnam is currently 23,400-25,450 VND/USD (buy - sell).

At commercial banks, USD prices today were adjusted down in both buying and selling directions.

On the selling side, USD prices at commercial banks decreased by 6 VND compared to yesterday's listed price and were all listed at the ceiling price of 25,491 VND/USD.

On the buying side, banks simultaneously adjusted the greenback price down, with some banks lowering it by nearly 100 VND compared to the listed price early this morning.

Specifically, at the opening of today's trading session, Vietcombank lowered the USD cash buying price to 25,121 VND/USD, down 46 VND compared to the beginning of yesterday's trading session (November 7).

Similarly, compared to early this morning, BIDV also decreased the greenback buying price by 6 VND, bringing the price to 25,191 VND/USD. VietinBank lowered the USD buying price to 25,145 VND/USD, down 76 VND.

In the private banking sector, Techcombank lowered the USD buying price by 98 VND, to 25,107 VND/USD.

Sacombank also reduced the USD buying price to 25,210 VND/USD, 90 VND cheaper.

Eximbank lowered the cash buying price of USD to 25,120 VND/USD, down 50 VND compared to the listed price this morning.

In the same trend, the USD price in the free market turned down sharply in the buying direction after increasing by 145 VND in the previous session.

Foreign exchange points in the free market this morning traded USD at a common price of 25,500-25,800 VND/USD (buy - sell). Compared to the previous session, the free USD price today decreased by 245 VND for buying and 45 VND for selling.

In the international market, the USD price has slowed down after falling sharply yesterday following the decision of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) to lower interest rates for the second time this year.

The US Dollar Index (measuring the greenback's fluctuations against six major currencies) at 9:52 a.m. on November 8 (Vietnam time) was at 104.53 points, up 0.02% compared to the previous session.
