Specifically, the purchase price at the warehouse, Ri6 beautiful is 65,000 - 67,000 and Ri6 durian in bucket has a purchase price of 50,000 - 55,000 VND/kg; Thai durian beautiful is at 95,000 - 98,000 VND/kg; meanwhile, Thai durian in bucket is at 75,000 - 77,000 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, in the Central Highlands, the price of beautiful Ri6 durian is at 62,000 - 64,000 VND/kg and Ri6 durian in bucket is at 48,000 - 52,000 VND/kg; beautiful Thai durian is at 92,000 - 95,000 VND/kg; Thai durian in bucket is at 62,000 - 68,000 VND/kg.

Durian prices continue to rise after a series of declines

The massive shift to durian cultivation while this consumption market is narrow, mainly exported to China, has many potential risks. Because the Chinese market is no longer easy-going when it continuously demands high quality.

Specifically, the frequency of warnings of quality violations has continuously increased and import regulations have become stricter. Vietnamese durian is facing fierce competition from other countries, so the possibility of supply exceeding demand, the risk of congestion, and unsaleable goods like many other agricultural products is likely to occur.

In less than 10 years, Vietnam's durian acreage has increased nearly 5 times. Specifically, from 32,000 hectares in 2015 to more than 150,000 hectares in 2023, corresponding to an output of 366,000 tons to more than 1.2 million tons. In order to help farmers expand their consumption markets, the Ministry of Agriculture is negotiating to officially export frozen durian to China and fresh fruit to India.
