Rice prices today, April 6, 2025, in the Mekong Delta region are stable. Specifically, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, there are no fluctuations in both fresh rice and rice.

Regarding rice, domestic rice prices were relatively stable during the week. Some raw rice prices increased at the beginning of the week, then increased slightly in the middle of the week and remained stable at the end of the week.

Regarding rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, currently raw rice 5451 fluctuates at 9,400 - 9,600 VND/kg; raw rice OM 380 fluctuates at 7,750 - 7,850 VND; raw rice IR 504 fluctuates at 7,900 - 8,000 VND/kg; finished rice OM 380 fluctuates at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg; finished rice IR 504 fluctuates at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.

As for by-products, the price of by-products ranges from 6,600 - 9,000 VND/kg. Currently, broken rice 3-4 ranges from 6,600 - 6,700 VND/kg; bran price ranges from 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg.

Recorded in localities today, the quantity is small, warehouses buy slowly, prices are stable. In An Giang, the quantity is small, transactions are slow, prices of all kinds of rice rarely fluctuate. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the quantity is sporadic, warehouses buy slowly, prices are stable.

Sa Dec market canal (Dong Thap), in terms of quantity, the market transaction is quiet, the price is stable. At An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), in terms of quantity, the market price is average, the warehouse purchase is slow.

At retail markets, rice prices of all kinds remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of VND28,000/kg; regular rice fluctuates at VND15,000 - 16,000/kg; long-grain fragrant rice fluctuates at VND20,000 - 22,000/kg; Huong Lai rice fluctuates at VND22,000/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates at VND18,000 - 20,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice fluctuates at VND22,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice fluctuates at VND21,000/kg; common white rice fluctuates at VND17,000/kg; Soc regular rice fluctuates at VND18,000/kg; Soc Thai rice is priced at VND21,000/kg; Japanese rice is priced at VND22,000/kg.

Similar to rice, during the week, the prices of some fresh rice products increased slightly at the beginning of the week and increased continuously in the middle of the week, then remained stable and increased slightly at the end of the week, with a total increase of 400 VND.

According to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current price of IR 50404 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 5,700 - 5,800 VND/kg; the price of OM 18 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 6,800 - 6,900 VND/kg; the price of Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 6,800 - 6,900 VND/kg; the price of OM 5451 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 5,900 - 6,000 VND/kg; the price of Nang Hoa 9 rice fluctuates at 6,550 - 6,750 VND/kg; the price of OM 380 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 5,500 - 5,700 VND/kg.

In many localities today, the supply is low, buying and selling transactions are slow. In An Giang, the supply of rice has decreased in many places, the quantity is still low, the price is stable, and transactions are slow. In Can Tho, farmers are offering a small supply of young rice, most of them are waiting for the day to cut and sell.

In Long An, farmers offer high prices, but trading is quiet. In Dong Thap, supplies are still low, and trading is still slow.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices today remained unchanged compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), currently 5% standard rice is at 399 USD/ton, 25% broken rice is at 370 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 316 USD/ton (down 9 USD/ton).

According to the latest information from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the first quarter of 2025, Vietnam exported 2.2 million tons of rice, reaching a turnover of 1.14 billion USD, up 0.6% in volume but down 19.7% in value compared to the same period in 2024.

In the first quarter of 2025, the Philippines remained Vietnam's largest rice consumer market with a market share of 42.1%. Ivory Coast and Ghana were the next two largest markets with market shares of 16.3% and 10.2%, respectively.

To improve capacity and export value, agricultural experts believe that domestic enterprises need to continue to proactively diversify markets, increase rice exports to new markets such as Europe, the US, Japan, the Middle East, West Asia, Africa, etc. At the same time, take advantage of free trade agreements to both enjoy tariff incentives and conquer and increase rice exports to new markets.
