In 2024, Gia Loc district was assigned to recruit 195 male citizens to join the army (an increase of 5 people compared to the previous year) for 8 key units.
After completing the medical examination, the Gia Loc District Military Service Council coordinated with the military units to organize "3 meetings, 4 knowledge" infiltration, including meeting citizens, meeting families, meeting localities, and knowing health, culture, background, and moral qualities.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tuan Hung, Deputy Political Commissar and Chief of Politics of Gia Loc District Military Command, some units receiving soldiers together with officers of the command directly went to the area to infiltrate and verify. This will be the basis for units and localities to finalize the list and issue orders to call citizens to join the army in accordance with regulations. "Some young people who work far away, work in enterprises and working groups have flexibly infiltrated in the evening or on Saturdays and Sundays," said Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Tuan Hung.
The District Military Command also closely coordinated with the locality to visit each family of young people eligible to join the army to visit and encourage them to understand the thoughts and aspirations of each case. A typical example is the case of young man Phung Danh Truong in Nam Cau 1 village, Pham Tran commune. Truong is the youngest child in a family with very difficult circumstances. Truong's father passed away, his second sister is disabled from birth and mentally ill. In the recent district-level recruitment examination, he was eligible to join the army but he was still a bit hesitant. During the infiltration process, the District and Commune Military Command coordinated with local authorities and organizations to propagate and encourage appropriately. The District Military Command coordinated with the District Youth Union to connect with businesses to provide advice and support in finding a job right after he was discharged from the army. The locality also gave gifts and rewards to help Truong have more motivation and be ready to join the army.
Thanks to the "firm step by step, strict step by step" in recruiting soldiers, especially the initiative and flexibility in infiltration work, Gia Loc district is highly appreciated by the units that cooperate to receive soldiers. Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Anh, Assistant of the 279th Brigade, said: "Although this is the first year of implementing the "3 meet, 4 know" infiltration in the locality, the process has been very favorable. The unit has infiltrated enough of the assigned targets in the district, ensuring quantity, quality, and compliance with regulations".
More motivation for young people to join the army
Tan Tien Commune is considered a bright spot of Gia Loc District in the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army, doing well in the "3 meetings, 4 knowing" stage. In 2024, the locality was assigned a target of 9 young people to join the army. In order for the infiltration work to be highly effective, the locality has mobilized the entire political system to participate with high determination. The commune arranged 2 working groups to meet each case, to better understand the circumstances, thoughts and aspirations of each young person. The groups also propagated and disseminated the policies of the Party and State so that families and young people clearly understood the rights and obligations of each citizen during and after completing their military service.
According to comrade Nguyen Thanh Nganh, Party Secretary and Chairman of Tan Tien Commune People's Committee, the infiltration work of "3 meetings, 4 knowledges" was carried out closely, openly, transparently, and in accordance with regulations. The locality also encouraged and introduced many young people who were qualified to join the army to attend the Party sympathy class.
From the "3 meetings, 4 knowing" stage, the family and the young man himself also noticed the attention of the Party Committee, the government and the units receiving the soldiers, clearly understanding the policies of the Party and the State towards citizens when performing military service. Young man Le Hai Nguyen in Dong Can village, Tan Tien commune, who is eligible to join the army this year, said: "The local authorities often come to visit and encourage me, so I feel more secure and confident in my choice."
According to the Hai Duong Provincial Military Command, in recent years, Gia Loc has been one of the province's bright spots in the work of selecting and calling citizens to join the army, especially the "3 meetings, 4 knowing" stage, ensuring "completeness" in military recruitment. Previously, the District and Commune Military Service Councils had tightened management, grasped the source, and approved the subjects, so they clearly understood the actual situation in the locality and the family circumstances of the subjects.
From doing a good job of meeting and grasping information about young people ready to join the army, Gia Loc has now finalized the number of soldiers with the units receiving soldiers. On that basis, the District Military Service Council will issue an order to call citizens to join the army from February 3-8.
