* Pig price in the Northern region:
On the morning of October 19, the Northern live pig market recorded a price decrease in Thai Nguyen, to 64,000 VND/kg.
Currently, only Thai Binh and Nam Dinh maintain the price of 65,000 VND/kg, the remaining localities are trading at 64,000 VND/kg.
* Pig price in the Central Highlands region
The Central Highlands region has adjusted down in many places, with purchasing prices in the region fluctuating from 61,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, Dak Lak continued to lower the price to 61,000 VND/kg, the lowest in the country. Also recording this decrease, the provinces: Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Binh Dinh and Khanh Hoa are selling live pigs at 62,000 VND/kg.
* Pig price in the Southern region
The Southern market also went down slightly, down 1,000 VND/kg in Binh Phuoc, Ho Chi Minh City and An Giang.
Currently, the price of live pigs in this area fluctuates between 62,000 - 65,000 VND/kg. Of which, the level of 65,000 VND/kg appears in the provinces: Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh and Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
Ho Chi Minh City destroys nearly 1.3 tons of food of unknown origin
Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety has just inspected and fined a business selling food of unknown origin according to people's feedback.
Accordingly, the Inspection Team of the Department of Food Safety coordinated with the Thu Duc City Health Department to conduct a surprise inspection of a business establishment in Truong Tho Ward, Thu Duc City.
The inspection team discovered nearly 1.3 tons of frozen food including: 979 kg of pig breast, 102 kg of chicken cartilage, duck tongue, young chicken eggs, duck feet, chicken gizzards, chicken gizzards, etc. without invoices or documents proving their origin. The total value of the shipment was nearly 50 million VND.
Immediately afterwards, the Inspection Team drew up a record of administrative violations and advised the Chief Inspector of the Department of Food Safety to issue a Decision to impose an administrative penalty of 35 million VND, forcing the destruction of all frozen foods of unknown origin.
