On the afternoon of September 30, gas businesses in Ho Chi Minh City announced that they would increase the selling price by VND6,000 per 12kg cylinder from the morning of October 1. This is the third consecutive price increase in the past three months with a total increase of VND16,000 per 12kg cylinder.
Representative of Vietnam LPG Trading Joint Stock Company - PV Gas LPG Southern Region said that the selling price of Petro VietNam Gas cylinders will increase by 500 VND/kg (including VAT) equivalent to 6,000 VND/12kg cylinder and 22,500 VND/45kg cylinder compared to September 2024.
Similar, gas price brands Thu Duc Gas, VT Gas, City Petro Gas, Vina Pacific Petro Gas and Vimexco Gas... both increased prices by 6,000 VND/12kg cylinder.
Company Only Saigon Petro Announcement, the selling price of SP gas cylinders increased by 458 VND/kg (including VAT), equivalent to an increase of 5,500 VND for a 12kg cylinder.
After the price increase, the retail price of 12kg gas cylinders in Ho Chi Minh City is at 442,000 - 484,000 VND/12kg cylinder depending on the brand.
Mr. Bui Le Anh Tuan, Head of Planning and Business Department of PV Gas LPG Southern Company, said that the reason for this price increase is that the average imported gas price (CP) in October 2024 was closed at 622.5 USD/ton, an increase of 22.5 USD/ton compared to the CP price in September 2024.
