Coffee price today 11/3/2025

World coffee prices fluctuated, the low USD supported coffee, however, high inventories on the New York floor prevented arabica from increasing strongly.

Domestic coffee prices today, March 11, returned to a strong upward trend of 1,000 VND/kg, currently trading in the range of 130,800 - 131,800 VND/kg.

The coffee market, like other exchanges, is focused on trade tensions, after US President Donald Trump imposed tariffs on major trading partners, amid concerns about a recession in the US economy. Not to mention the significant increase in demand for coffee in countries, especially China in recent years. Coffee prices also benefited from a weaker US dollar last week. The DXY index fell more than 3% last week.

According to experts' analysis, the reason for the continued increase in coffee prices on the two floors in recent times, in addition to supply and demand factors, is also due to speculation on the floor. It can be clearly seen through the transaction prices of the months, the delivery prices of the near months are higher than the distant months. This proves that speculators focus money on the near months with the purpose of increasing and withdrawing capital quickly.

Coffee prices are also under downward pressure due to a report from brokerage Marex forecasting that the global coffee surplus in the 2025-2026 crop year will increase to 1.2 million bags, compared to a surplus of 200,000 bags in the 2024-2025 crop year.

Amidst the ongoing geopolitical conflict and escalating trade war, speculators are pouring money into gold and agricultural products such as coffee and cocoa. Overall, coffee prices have an advantage and are on an upward trend in the current context.

In addition, dry weather in top producer Brazil remains a concern, but has been partly priced in, according to Reuters . Now, new concerns are emerging about the impact of high prices on demand. Global coffee traders and roasters say they have cut purchases to a minimum as the industry reels from the sharp price increase. Meanwhile, suppliers have struggled to convince retailers to accept them.

Currently, the coffee market is facing a number of important issues, such as strong price fluctuations, climate change, difficulties in maintaining quality, supply chain crises, changing demand...

Coffee prices fluctuate widely due to the influence of many factors such as weather, demand and changes in the global supply chain. Forecasts show that price fluctuations will continue to cause difficulties for coffee producers and processors.

Climate change is affecting coffee yields and quality, especially in traditional coffee growing regions such as Brazil, Vietnam and Colombia. Temperature variations and erratic rainfall patterns increase the risk of crop loss.

Coffee farmers, especially in small producing countries, face many difficulties in maintaining product quality due to lack of technical resources, capital and farming technology.

The coffee industry is heavily dependent on labor, but in some areas, labor shortages due to low wages and poor working conditions are increasing, affecting supply and product quality.

The aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic and logistical issues caused by global geopolitical instability have caused major disruptions in the global coffee supply chain. From harvesting to shipping, costs and delivery times have increased, causing difficulties for producers and consumers.

Coffee consumption habits are also changing, with the rise of specialty coffee, organic coffee and new trends. This forces businesses and farmers to adapt and improve product quality.

Finally, there is the issue of ethics and sustainability, there is a growing demand for sustainable, fair and environmentally friendly coffee products. However, implementing these standards is costly and difficult for small producers.

The above issues are creating a challenging picture for the coffee industry, but also opening up opportunities for innovation and sustainable development in the future.
