DNVN - On August 29, Samsung Vietnam cooperated with the Successful Youth Organization to organize the closing ceremony of the Technology Talent Development Project - Samsung Innovation Campus for the 2023 - 2024 school year (SIC 2023 -2024) to summarize and evaluate the effectiveness of the project.

The Samsung Innovation Campus Technology Talent Development Project for the 2023-2024 school year was officially launched in October 2023 to develop high-tech capabilities for the young generation of Vietnam - those who will lead the success of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 in Vietnam in the future.

The project offers 3 courses to develop technology capacity for young people aged 13-22, including: Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data and 1 basic programming skills course (Coding & Programming – C&P). The courses combine 2 forms of online training (E-Learning) and direct training to reach students in many provinces and regions across the country. Along with specialized knowledge, the project also provides career guidance and soft skills content to supplement and enhance learners' capacity throughout the program.

In order to provide a modern training space with high-quality equipment, SIC 2023-2024 has also built 2 "SIC Labs" at Duy Tan University and the National Innovation Center. Here, SIC students will have the opportunity to study, practice and research in the best conditions.

The two winning teams of Innovation Tech Challenge - 2024 are “Jerry” from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Hanoi and “DTU30” from Duy Tan University, Da Nang.

Up to now, after nearly 1 year of implementation, the SIC 2023 - 2024 project has been deployed in 67 schools including secondary schools, high schools and universities in 13 provinces and cities across the country and recorded breakthrough results with nearly 6,400 students participating (nearly double the number of students in the SIC 2022 - 2023 project), nearly 21,000 hours of teaching in 227 classrooms along with 16,320 hours of E-learning completed.

Among them, Samsung Vietnam has cooperated with the National Innovation Center - NIC to deploy 06 high-tech training courses for about 200 students at NIC Hoa Lac campus. This is the first cooperation activity between Samsung Complex in Vietnam (Samsung Vietnam) and the National Innovation Center (NIC) to realize the goal of training 50,000 semiconductor engineers by 2030 in Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc - Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment said: "The Technology Talent Development Program (SIC) in cooperation with Samsung is a top priority for the National Innovation Center, aiming to nurture technology talents. I highly appreciate the determination and efforts of Samsung Group in joining hands with the National Innovation Center and related units to develop innovation and high technology capacity for the young generation of Vietnam, in line with the direction of the Prime Minister: "NIC must be a place to gather intelligence and spread the benefits of Vietnamese innovation".

In addition, teacher training courses designed by leading experts from Samsung Group as well as major research institutions and universities nationwide have been implemented for nearly 200 teachers in provinces and cities.

Also within the framework of the project, with the desire to build a healthy playground for students to fully demonstrate the knowledge and skills acquired from the program as well as have the opportunity to interact with friends with the same passion nationwide, the project's coordinating board organized the Science and Technology Innovation Competition "Innovation Tech Challenge - 2024" for students of the SIC project, in the form of the "Micromouse" - Maze Decoding Robot contest.

This year's competition has the participation of 9 university teams and 11 high school teams from 8 provinces and cities. The teams will build a robot inspired by the mouse model. The robot will be placed in the maze and operate completely automatically to find the finish line of the maze.

In the end, with skillful skills and precise product operation, the two teams “Jerry” from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Hanoi and “DTU30” from Duy Tan University, Da Nang became the two winning teams.

At the event, Samsung awarded 60 scholarships to 60 best students of the SIC 2023 - 2024 program.

Mr. Choi Joo Ho, General Director of Samsung Vietnam Complex said: “Samsung and IT enterprises around the world are looking for opportunities to cooperate and expand investment in Vietnam. In the near future, Vietnam will play an extremely important role in the world, not only in the mobile phone sector but also in the entire high-tech industry. You need to grasp these changes in Vietnam to create your own opportunities. Along with the great policies of the Vietnamese Government, schools and global enterprises such as Samsung are making efforts to train human resources in the IT and semiconductor fields, which shows that all are building an extremely favorable environment for you."

The Samsung Innovation Campus project was officially launched globally in 2019. This is one of Samsung's typical corporate social responsibility programs and has expanded to 36 countries worldwide such as the US, Germany, Spain, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand... In Vietnam, the program has also been deployed since 2019. Up to now, the project has expanded to about 90 schools and 30 provinces and cities nationwide, providing more than 12,000 Vietnamese youth with courses such as C&P, AI, Big Data, IoT.
