Nearly 1,000 students in Ho Chi Minh City receive Pearson Edexcel certificates

According to information from EMG Education, students of the integrated English program in grades 5, 9 and 11 (school year 2022-2023) participated in the Pearson Edexcel certification exam in 2023 and achieved high results.

The specific results are as follows:

In math: 100% of students at all three levels of primary, secondary and high school achieved results of passing or higher. Of which, more than 86% of primary school students, 70% of secondary school students and 84% of high school students achieved excellent scores.

For science: more than 96% of middle school students have passed results or higher; 99% of high school students have passed results or higher.

For English: 100% of high school students have achieved results or higher.

In particular, Vietnamese students' math ability is outstanding when 84% of high school students achieve excellent scores (this rate for global students is 54%). Of which, the number of students achieving absolute scores (score 9) is 31%, this rate for students in the world is only 19%.

At the ceremony, EMG Education honored and awarded Bui Khoi Nguyen, a 5th grade student at An Binh Primary School, Thu Duc City, who achieved the highest primary math score in the world (out of 4,200 students taking the exam); Le Dinh Trung Hieu, a student at Saigon Practice High School, District 5, who achieved the highest achievement in Vietnam in both math and science.

In addition, EMG Education also awarded 9 students with Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards (students with the highest scores in Vietnam in each subject) and 24 students with Excellence Awards - excellent scores for all 3 subjects: math, English and science.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, emphasized: "Inheriting and promoting the tradition of studiousness of Vietnamese students over many years, students participating in the Pearson Edexcel 2023 certification exam continue to achieve many outstanding achievements compared to the region and the world.

This proves the quality of the integrated English program and the right direction of the city's education sector in promoting the improvement of English proficiency and subjects taught in English. At the same time, students are encouraged to take international certification exams as a necessary preparation for future study and work plans."
