Vietnam Futsal completes important training trip in South America

The Vietnam Futsal Team has completed an important training trip in South America from May 31 to June 15, gaining valuable experiences in friendly matches against the Paraguay Futsal Team and the Argentina Futsal Team.

This training trip is a great effort from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) in investing with focus and key points, ensuring that the Vietnam Futsal Team has the best preparation for the 2024 Asian Futsal Championship qualifying round taking place next October.

In addition, the call-up of many young players, who are wearing the national team jersey for the first time during this training trip to South America, is also part of the plan to build a team framework for the goal of participating in the World Cup next year.

Head coach of the Vietnam Futsal team Diego Giustozzi affirmed that this training session in Paraguay and Argentina was very favorable.

The football federations of the two countries have created all conditions and always been attentive to the activities of the Vietnam Futsal Team, from accommodation, travel, and especially arranging extremely useful friendly matches.

Regarding the training trip's results, after three matches with Paraguay and two matches with Argentina, the Vietnamese players had one draw and four losses.

However, coach Giustozzi said he did not focus on winning or losing in this training session because South American teams are very strong in football in general and futsal in particular.

Paraguay is currently ranked 9th in the world futsal rankings, while Argentina won the 2016 Futsal World Cup and is the current world runner-up.

According to coach Giustozzi, competing with such high-class opponents is a rare opportunity for the coaching staff as well as the Vietnamese players to learn and gain experience in all aspects such as technical level, tactical thinking, strength, physical strength, speed...

The Argentine coach emphasized that what he was most pleased about was that the Vietnamese players had shown determination to compete when facing much stronger opponents.

This is extremely important in futsal because the intensity of the game requires high concentration and a "tough" mentality from the players.

In addition, Mr. Giustozzi affirmed that the Vietnamese players' determination and fiery playing style surprised Argentine fans. In both matches in this South American country, there were times when thousands of home fans unanimously applauded the performance of the Vietnamese Futsal Team.

Sharing about the potential to promote cooperation in the field of Futsal exchange between Vietnam and South American countries, coach Giustozzi said that despite the great geographical distance, the prospect of cooperation between the parties is not impossible.
