According to Engadget , after a long wait, Square Enix has officially confirmed the release date of the popular online role-playing game Final Fantasy 14 (FFXIV) on the Xbox Series X/S console. Accordingly, the game will land on Microsoft's platform on March 21.
FFXIV has been available on PlayStation and PC since 2013, so an Xbox version has been something fans have been waiting for for a long time.
An extended beta of FFXIV for Xbox Series X/S is also currently live, but is limited to new Square Enix accounts. The beta includes all of the content available in the free trial (the base game and the Heavensward and Stormblood expansions), and progress will be carried over to the full release.
Microsoft is also offering Game Pass Ultimate subscribers a deal where they can get the Starter Pack Edition of FFXIV for free from March 21 to April 19. This is similar to a free trial, with the main game and the first two expansions.
However, both have limitations, as the free trial only allows players to experience the game once they reach level 70. Meanwhile, the Starter Pack version will not have the level cap and other limitations of the free trial, but players will have to pay a subscription fee for the game after 30 days (in addition to the Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate subscription fee required to play on Xbox).
