The 2nd Ninh Binh Trang An Festival Southern Cultural Heritage Program The Journey Continues

Within the framework of the 2nd Ninh Binh-Trang An Festival in 2023, on the evening of December 28, at the World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, the program "Southern Cultural Heritage - Continuing Journey" took place.

Attending the program were comrades: Tong Quang Thin, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2nd Ninh Binh-Trang An Festival in 2023; Nguyen Cao Son, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Also attending were leaders of provincial departments, agencies, sectors and organizations; leaders of People's Committees of districts and cities; members of the Provincial Festival Organizing Committee; representatives of enterprises, sponsors, central and local press agencies, and a large number of people and tourists.

The Southern region, with over 300 years of formation and development, has gathered many distinctive cultures and has many unique cultural heritages. In particular, the art of Southern amateur music is a traditional folk art form typical of the Southern region, which was recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity in 2013.

Don ca tai tu has been associated with the lives of the people of the South since the early days of land opening, it is the breath, the voice, the strong vitality of the people who value righteousness over money, full of humanity of the river region rich in fruits and intelligence and bravery of the South.

A group of artists and artisans from the Southern region traveled thousands of kilometers to be present at the World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex and brought a special performance, with music and songs imbued with the humanity of the Southern region.

Using folk music, Don ca tai tu through the singing and recitation of folk artists, Southern Cai Luong artists, and performance forms such as dance, circus magic used to support the performance space... recreated the unique cultural features of the Southern region: Floating markets, ferries, merchant life, the most unique traditional occupations serving the daily life of Southern people such as boat building, pot making, mat weaving, mattress making, and so on... Thereby expressing the generous, open-minded, sincere, heroic, and righteous character of the Southern people...

The art performances at the program: Southern Land Dating; Southern Land Reclamation Scene; Southern Folk Songs; Southern People's Love; Journey on Nine Rivers; The South Welcomes the Four Directions... through the voices of People's Artist Phuong Loan, People's Artist Tan Giao, People's Artist Thanh Tuan, Meritorious Artist Le Tu, Meritorious Artist Ngoc Dang, Folk Artists Thao Vy, Nhat Nguyen, My Tien, Huong Lan, Nhu Huynh... helped the audience understand and love the Southern land more.

The program "Southern Cultural Heritage - Continuing Journey" is one of a series of events honoring the cultural and artistic heritage of the 2nd Ninh Binh-Trang An Festival in 2023. Thereby contributing to promoting activities to preserve and promote the values ​​of traditional folk art forms, preserving and promoting national cultural identity, so that this invaluable asset of the people is created and passed down through many generations, forever the pride of the Vietnamese people.

The Northern and Central Cultural Heritage Program, Closing Ceremony of the 2nd Ninh Binh-Trang An Festival 2023, Welcoming the New Year 2024 will take place at 22:00, December 31, 2023 at Thung Nham Eco-tourism Area, Ninh Binh Province.
