On May 9, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue province held an international press conference to introduce Hue Festival 2024 with the theme "Cultural heritage with integration and development".
Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue Province Nguyen Van Phuong said that in an effort to become a typical national and international festival city of Vietnam, Hue Festival 2024 continues to hold many unique and attractive cultural activities, bringing people and tourists into both creative and enjoyment subjects. Here, there are not only typical art programs representing countries but also royal festivals, folk festivals of Thua Thien - Hue...
“Hue Festival contributes to promoting socio-economic development, contributing to the successful implementation of Resolution 54-NQ/TW of the Politburo on building and developing Thua Thien - Hue province to 2030, with a vision to 2045, with the goal of becoming a centrally-run city by 2025 on the basis of preserving and promoting the value of the ancient capital's heritage and Hue's cultural identity,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong.
Hue Festival 2024 will be held throughout the four seasons with a series of festivals spread throughout the year: Spring Festival - "Spring of the Ancient Capital" (January - March) featuring royal Tet activities, traditional Tet cultural spaces and folk festivals.
The Summer Festival - "Shining Imperial City" (from April to June) with the highlight of Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024 contributes to introducing and promoting towards building Hue to truly become a typical Festival city of Vietnam.
The Autumn Festival - "Hue in Autumn" (July - September) focuses on the Mid-Autumn Festival program with the Hue Lantern Festival 2024, combining street Lion - Lion - Dragon performances, displays, installations, lantern processions, traditional Mid-Autumn Festival experiences, introducing the beauty of Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Festival culture.
The Winter Festival - "Winter of Hue" (October - December) has the highlight of Hue Music Week 2024 and ends with the Countdown program to say goodbye to Hue Festival 2024 - welcome the new year 2025.
The organizers said that among the seasonal festivals, the focus of Hue Festival 2024 is the Hue International Arts Festival Week 2024 with the theme "Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development" taking place from June 7 to June 12, 2024. The week of activities and programs: Opening ceremony with art performances and light projections; "Cultural Colors" street festival; light festival; lantern festival; culinary festival; "Tam Giang Waves" festival...
The highlight of the Hue International Arts Festival Week is the performance program of domestic and international art troupes on community stages. To date, 12 art troupes and groups from 7 countries and many domestic art troupes have participated in the performance.
Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue Province, Head of the Organizing Committee of Hue Festival 2024, shared that Hue Festival will be held annually, on an international scale, and will upgrade many attractive and unique tourism products to attract domestic and international tourists. In addition to the main programs and activities, the festival also has socialized activities and programs of a community nature.
