On October 16, 2024, in Dong Nai, Mr. Bui Van Kien - Deputy General Director of the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) inspected and urged the construction of the 500kV Nhon Trach 4 - Phu My - Nha Be branch line project.

The 500kV Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant - Phu My - Nha Be branch line project builds a new 500kV 2-circuit and 4-circuit line (the 4-circuit line section is combined with the 220kV Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant - Thu Duc line, about 3.1km long); from the 500kV distribution yard of Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant to the connection location on the existing 500kV Phu My - Nha Be line, about 4.2km long.

The power line passes through Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province and was agreed by Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee in Document No. 9418/UBND-CNN dated August 14, 2019. Up to now, the locality has handed over the entire site of 15/15 foundation positions to the investor. Regarding construction progress, the project has completed digging the foundation of 15/15, completed casting the foundation of 15/15 positions; erected pillars of 8/15 positions, is erecting 7/15 positions, completed pulling the wire of 2 anchors, and is pulling the wire of 1 anchor.

This is an important project, aiming to relieve power capacity from Nhon Trach 4 power plant, contributing to ensuring energy security.

According to the plan, GT2 unit of Nhon Trach 4 power plant will ignite for the first time on December 22, 2024 and connect to the grid for the first time on December 30, 2024. Therefore, the project needs to ensure completion ahead of the power generation milestones of Nhon Trach 4 power plant.

At the site inspection, Mr. Bui Van Kien assessed that the above results had great support from the local government and people of Nhon Trach district, supporting the project implementation.

With the above progress of site handover, EVNNPT leaders requested the Southern Power Project Management Board (SPMB) to urge the contractor to speed up the construction and installation of the remaining towers, organize wire pulling and complete the project before November 15, 2024 to meet the progress of releasing the capacity of Nhon Trach 4 power plant.
