(PLVN) - The Power Transmission Project Management Board (NPTPMB) is determined to complete the 220kV Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant - My Xuan - Cat Lai branch line project in the third quarter of 2025 so that it can work with units under the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) to release the capacity of Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Thermal Power Plants.
Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) has assigned EVNNPT to be the investor of 220kV power line and transformer station projects to serve the capacity release, in which NPTPMB was assigned by EVNNPT to implement the 220kV power line project of Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant - My Xuan - Cat Lai branch, from the 220kV distribution yard of Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant (Phuoc Khanh commune, Nhon Trach district) and ending at the DN2 connection location in the T44 - T45 column of the existing 220kV My Xuan - Cat Lai line (Vinh Thanh commune, Nhon Trach district).
The project has a total construction investment of nearly 150 billion VND, with a total route length of about 6.83km.
Speaking to reporters of the Vietnam Law Newspaper, Mr. Le Tuan Anh - Deputy Director of NPTPMB said that the above project will start in the first quarter of 2025 and will be completed in the third quarter of 2025. Up to this point, the legal procedures of the project have been basically completed.
On November 6, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien said that the synchronous power grid projects to relieve the capacity of Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Thermal Power Plants have not made any progress and have not handed over the site in October 2024 as committed by the leaders of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee.
Accordingly, the project has been approved by the People's Committee of Dong Nai province for investment policy and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Report. EVNNPT has approved the Feasibility Study Report and Construction Design to be implemented after the basic design... Currently, NPTPMB is urgently organizing the selection of contractors for construction and installation packages, and the supply of materials and equipment for the project.
Regarding compensation and site clearance (BCL), the project has been approved by the Dong Nai Provincial People's Council to supplement the list of land acquisition projects in 2024, and approved the list of projects that must change the purpose of use with rice land area in 2024 in the province. However, in order to implement BCL, the project needs to be supplemented with the 2024 land use plan of Nhon Trach district.
“In order to have a basis for implementing BTGPMB work and ensuring the progress of the project, we propose that the People's Committee of Dong Nai province pay attention, support and soon approve the supplementary Land Use Plan of Nhon Trach district in 2024 and transfer to 2025 for the project. At the same time, update the scale and location of power projects in the dossier and map of Land Use Planning to 2030 in Nhon Trach district, and direct relevant departments and branches as well as the People's Committee of Nhon Trach district to implement BTGPMB procedures in parallel with the procedures for updating the land use planning”, Deputy Director of NPTPMB Le Tuan Anh suggested.

Regarding this issue, previously - on November 6, Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien - Minister of Industry and Trade, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the State Steering Committee for important national programs, works and projects, key to the Energy sector chaired a meeting to review power grid projects, including the release of capacity of Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Thermal Power Plants. Specifically, Minister Dien requested the People's Committee of Dong Nai province to soon complete the approval of the additional Planning and land use plan of Nhon Trach district as a basis for implementing BTGPMB procedures.
In addition, the Minister of Industry and Trade requested Dong Nai province to direct the People's Committee of Nhon Trach district to promptly implement procedures on BTGPMB and continue to promote propaganda and mobilize households to support the implementation of projects and hand over the site to investors and contractors for early implementation of construction.
