On January 7, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) held a conference to review the work in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025.
According to EVNNPT, to date, the volume of operational management has reached about 32,080km of lines and 205 transformer stations (TSAs). Including more than 11,700km of 500kV lines, an increase of 9.9% compared to 2023 and more than 20,300km of 220kV lines.
Operating 32,080km of power lines, transmitting 246.66 billion kWh
Power transmission output reached 246.66 billion kWh, up 10.76% over the same period in 2023 and up 5.46% over the 2024 plan. With good growth in power transmission output, it has created favorable conditions for the implementation of EVNNPT's main targets on revenue and contracted costs.
Notably, the transmission grid operates safely and stably, especially with the 500kV North-Central line under extremely stressful operating conditions during peak hot months to contribute to ensuring electricity supply in 2024.
Electricity loss is currently at 2.62% (6,640 billion kWh), up 0.22% compared to 2023 (2.40%), 0.22% higher than the planned target (2.40%).
Despite many difficulties, EVNNPT said it has started construction and put into operation important projects to help relieve power source capacity and ensure power supply.
Specifically, the 220kV lines circuit 2 Quang Ngai - Quy Nhon, Nha Trang - Thap Cham, phase 1, Nhon Trach 3 connection line; Pho Cao 220kV substation, M2 Thai Thuy 220kV substation, Yen Hung; installation of compensation capacitors for the power transmission grid in the Northern region...
In particular, the 500kV line 3 projects are very large in scale with a total investment of over VND 22,356 billion, but EVNNPT has put them into operation with a record progress of just over 6 months. Thanks to that, the total construction investment value of the corporation reached a high level, estimated at VND 30,045 billion.
Large capital arrangement for 500kV circuit 3 project
EVNNPT said that in 2024, the electricity transmission price will be VND83.07/kWh, the pre-tax profit margin on equity will be 2%, equivalent to pre-tax profit of VND506 billion. Cost-saving and optimization solutions have contributed to improving capital efficiency and ensuring profits.
To implement the projects, the corporation has arranged sufficient and timely capital for construction investment projects with a total loan value of about 43,466 billion VND.
In particular, EVNNPT signed loan contracts with 5 banks with a total amount of 15,644 billion VND, disbursed promptly and fully, contributing to ensuring the completion of the 3rd circuit project on schedule; borrowed 67 million euros without government guarantee.
In 2025, EVNNPT targets a power transmission output of 269.1 billion kWh. The power loss rate on the transmission grid is 2.4%. Complete remote operation and unmanned operation of 100% of 220kV substations.
At the same time, the enterprise plans to start 34 projects; complete and energize 74 projects with a total value of VND 20,670,913 billion, of which the net investment is about VND 14,746,252 billion.
