Ms. Huynh Thi Hien - Head of the Department of Internal Affairs of Duy Xuyen district said that the patriotic emulation movement was deployed with specific content and criteria; closely following political tasks, suitable to the practical situation. The system of legal documents and the apparatus for emulation and reward work were promptly completed.

The content of the movement is suitable to the local reality, the launching form is practical, creating a vibrant atmosphere, and receiving positive responses from all walks of life. Thanks to that, Duy Xuyen has continued to achieve impressive results in all sectors and fields in recent times.

With the results achieved in all fields, in 2023, Duy Xuyen district had 46 collectives and individuals honored to receive the Government's Emulation Flag, Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister, Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, provincial-level emulation soldier, provincial emulation flag...

The highlight is that in 2023, the locality created new jobs for 2,490 workers; completed the goal of eliminating 63 temporary houses for poor and near-poor households; total state budget revenue reached 1,279 billion VND, an increase of 20% compared to the district's estimate and an increase of 53% compared to the province's estimate.

In 2023, the district's industrial and handicraft production value will reach VND 4,297 billion. The trade and service sector will maintain positive growth momentum, especially the tourism sector will have many improvements.

In 2023, the number of visitors to My Son will be more than 360,000, reaching 326% compared to 2022; in the first 6 months of 2024 alone, the number of visitors will reach 243,360, an increase of 35.9% over the same period last year.

“Thanks to the strong economic transformation, Duy Xuyen's per capita income has now reached 55.5 million VND, an increase of 5.3 million VND compared to 2022; the district's poverty rate is 2.06%, a decrease of 0.33% compared to 2022…” - Ms. Hien said.

Diversified forms of competition

With the support fund from the temporary housing elimination program, Mr. Nguyen Van Xi's family (Duy Hai commune, Duy Xuyen) is completing their new house. Mr. Xi is a poor household with difficult circumstances, he is disabled, and takes care of his elderly mother...

Considering this is a special situation, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Duy Hai commune connected with benefactors to support Mr. Xi's family with 150 million VND to build a new house. Mr. Xi confided: "Thanks to the attention and help of superiors, my family has a solid house, more secure during the rainy and stormy season."

According to the provisions of Resolution No. 13 (dated September 22, 2023) of the Provincial People's Council, the support for eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the period of 2023 - 2025 has 2 levels: 60 million VND for newly built houses and 30 million VND for repaired houses.

However, Duy Xuyen district flexibly combines resources to support each newly built house with at least 100 million VND and each repaired house with about 40 million VND, not to mention the Front and socio-political organizations mobilizing people to contribute labor days. In 2022 - 2023, the whole district will complete and put into use 63/63 houses that meet the "3 hard" criteria of the Ministry of Construction.

Mr. Dang Huu Phuc - Vice Chairman of Duy Xuyen District People's Committee said that according to statistics by June 2024, Duy Xuyen district still has 154 temporary and dilapidated houses in need of support, including 36 newly built houses and 118 repaired houses.

"With the active participation of the entire political system from the district to the grassroots level, the locality is determined to complete the elimination of all temporary and dilapidated houses before August 2025," said Mr. Phuc.
