According to the Vietnam Bond Market Association (VBMA) compiled from the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) and the State Securities Commission (SSC), in May 2023, there were 4 corporate bond issuances with a total value of VND 2,600 billion.
Of these, all four bond issuances come from Nui Phao Mineral Exploitation and Processing Company Limited, a company operating in the raw materials industry.
These bonds have a term of 5 years with an interest rate of 9%/year for the first 2 periods. The interest rate for the following periods is calculated based on the base interest rate plus a margin of 4.1%/year.
Previously, in April, there was only 1 private issuance and 1 public issuance with a total value of 2,671 billion VND, equal to 10% of the total issuance volume in March.
Accumulated from the beginning of the year until now, the total value of corporate bond issuance is 34,258 billion VND, with 7 public issuances worth 5,521 billion VND, accounting for 16% of the total issuance value and 19 private issuances worth 28,737 billion VND, accounting for 84%.
Corporate bonds bought back in May increased sharply.
On the contrary, corporate bonds bought back in May increased sharply. According to VBMA data compiled from HNX, as of the information announcement date of June 2, enterprises bought back VND25,598 billion of bonds in May. Of which, the banking group accounted for 66% with VND17,067 billion.
Accumulated from the beginning of the year until now, the total value of bonds bought back by enterprises before maturity reached 76,523 billion VND, an increase of 70.6% over the same period in 2022.
Regarding corporate bonds maturing, as of the information announcement date of June 2, the total value of bonds maturing in the remainder of 2023 is VND 195,090 billion.
Of which, the real estate group leads in maturity value with VND 101,179 billion, followed by the banking group with VND 31,661 billion.
Regarding late payment of principal and interest on bonds, as of the date of information announcement on June 2, 6 enterprises announced late payment of principal and interest on bonds worth VND 12,461 billion and 4 enterprises announced bond restructuring plans.
Of these, 16 enterprises were late in paying interest, principal of bonds, and making early repurchase payments, and 19 enterprises announced that they had reached an agreement to change the terms and conditions of bonds in May .
