This year, the Green Summer Campaign in Binh Duong is more special with the participation of Vietnamese students studying in Singapore with the program "Building dreams - Building ambitions".
For my dear juniors
Implementing the assignment of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Student Association on coordinating and supporting activities between the Vietnam Student Associations of provinces and cities with the Vietnam Student Associations abroad; at the same time responding to the theme "Year of Youth Volunteers" launched by the Central Youth Union, this summer, the Secretariat of the Vietnam Student Association of Binh Duong province coordinated with the Secretariat of the Vietnam Student Association in Singapore to organize the Green Summer volunteer program with the theme "Building dreams - Building ambitions".

At the beginning of the journey, nearly 40 students from the two units came to Hoa Loc Primary School, Minh Hoa Commune, Dau Tieng District, one of the schools in the remote areas of the province. This place is home to many students of the Cham ethnic group or Cambodian "overseas Vietnamese" without identification papers, living on rafts in Dau Tieng Lake. In order to promote the spirit of "For beloved juniors" of the association's chapters and each member, students for children in difficult circumstances, together with the support of sponsors, the Student Association of the two units presented 100 gifts including school bags, rice, milk... to 100 students in difficult circumstances; presented 20 study corners to 20 students in especially difficult circumstances and a children's bookshelf to Hoa Loc Primary School. In addition to presenting projects and gifts, Green Summer Campaign volunteers also cooked nutritious lunches for the children, organized entertainment activities for the children, and planted trees for the school.
Nguyen Song Thao Huong, a student studying abroad in Singapore, shared: “Having the opportunity to go and experience the activities “For my beloved juniors”, I feel so touched and want to contribute to the work of building and developing the community; taking care of children who are still facing many difficulties to contribute to bringing them motivation to study and joy during the summer days…”.
Join hands to build community
At the end of the volunteer program at Hoa Loc Primary School, the Green Summer soldiers went to the Provincial Administrative Center and visited the Intelligent Operation Center (IOC); met with provincial leaders. Here, they were introduced to an overview of Binh Duong as well as policies to attract high-quality human resources in the locality; at the same time, they expressed and shared their thoughts about Binh Duong and the Green Summer Campaign in Binh Duong with provincial leaders.
Vu Duc Thanh, a student from Singapore, shared: “This is the first time I have participated in the Green Summer Campaign in Binh Duong. The program has left many good impressions when I participated in meaningful activities; met dynamic, intelligent, professional Binh Duong students; had the opportunity to learn from each other. Hopefully, in the future, the two units will continue to organize more meaningful activities like this.”
Within the framework of the Green Summer Campaign, the Vietnamese Student Association in Singapore and clubs, teams, and groups at universities and colleges in the province also had activities to exchange and share work experiences. At the same time, the units also coordinated with the Engineering Officer School to organize the "Exchange Program for Vietnamese and international officers, soldiers, and students of the Engineering Officer School". Participating in the program, students had cultural exchanges, participated in games, and lit campfires with Lao and Cambodian students.

In the past, the two units have organized a number of activities in the form of online. And the Green Summer program "Building dreams - Building ambitions" is the first program in which the two units officially met and carried out meaningful and practical works and projects, contributing to spreading the spirit of volunteerism and joining hands to build the community. I hope that in the coming time, the two units will continue to connect the youth to participate in contributing works and projects to support students in difficult areas. In the near future, the two units will sign a memorandum of understanding to have academic, volunteer and exchange activities with each other every year. At the same time, we also hope to spread this model to students studying in other countries...".
