With only a few days left until the 2023 Mid-Autumn Festival, the mooncake market is starting to become bustling on every street. Instead of buying ready-made cakes for visitors, some resorts in Ham Tien - Mui Ne have organized for visitors to participate in making their own cakes to have the opportunity to learn and experience one of the most unique features of the Mid-Autumn Festival in Vietnam.
At the resorts, the staff introduced to the guests the ingredients to make the mooncake crust such as flour, sugar water, peanut butter, etc. and then the process of kneading the dough and dividing the dough to create a balanced ratio between the crust and the filling. After listening attentively and observing the instructions on how to make the mooncake, everyone got to work together. Everyone was excited to make the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival mooncake.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Duong - a tourist from Dong Thap province said: I must say that this is the first time my family and I have participated in a moon cake shaping activity like this when traveling to Phan Thiet city. It was quite interesting, very fun and exciting.
The mixed cakes with the blend of fat, sugar, nuts, lemon leaves, Chinese sausage and the scent of mai que lo wine really surprised visitors when they first enjoyed them.
Ms. ANDREA CERMAK – Austrian tourist shared: I am very happy to participate in this activity when completing a cake by myself. I like the most when shaping the cake and it was a really interesting experience. I find the cake very delicious, with a combination of the salty taste of the filling and the sweet taste of the crust, very harmonious. And I really like when I make a complete cake by myself…
