Dong Nai awarded the first prize worth nearly 1 billion VND for the idea of converting the function of the oldest industrial park in Vietnam.

(DN) - On March 25, the Provincial People's Committee held the Announcement and Award Ceremony of the Competition "Ideas for planning to convert the function of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into an Urban - Commercial - Service Area in An Binh Ward, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province". Attending the ceremony were Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc.

Mr. Do Thanh Phuong, Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Construction, said that the competition attracted a large number of domestic and foreign competitors with impressive creative ideas. Through the competition process, based on the scoring results of the jury, the Provincial People's Committee issued a decision approving the competition results.

Accordingly, the competition plan with code U618 of the consortium of ENCITY International Consulting JSC and PT Studio Rancang Urban Selaras (URBAN+) won first prize.

The competition plan with code D369 of the joint venture Dinh Phat Investment Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company and OMGEVING Asia Company Limited won second prize. The competition plan with code N959 of the joint venture Shanghai Tongji Urban Planning and Design Institute and Urban Planning and Development Research Institute won third prize.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc said that Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park was established in 1963 under the name Bien Hoa Industrial Park. After 1975, Bien Hoa Industrial Park was renamed Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park and was the first industrial park in the country. Up to now, after 62 years of operation, Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park has completed its mission.

Dong Nai Province hopes that after converting the function of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into an Urban - Commercial - Service Area, it will harmoniously combine the overall landscape architecture of Dong Nai River, Cai River and Hiep Hoa Islet, meeting the harmony between architectural works, especially associated with the political - administrative center of the province with squares, parks, river landscapes with a scale worthy of a political - administrative center of the province located in Bien Hoa city with a history of more than 300 years.

In order to put the idea of planning to convert the function of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into an urban - commercial - service area, which is associated with the Provincial Political - Administrative Center, into practice, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc requested the Department of Construction to continue advising the Provincial People's Committee on the next tasks with a spirit of urgency and effort to continue implementing related planning projects; continue to organize a competition for architectural plans for the Provincial Political - Administrative Center to have the most beautiful, economical, feasible and reasonable plan so that it can be put into use soon in 2029.
