Typically, recently on November 4, 2024, Market Management Team No. 5 inspected the business household of Mother and Baby Store, address No. 28, Group 68, Area 5B (Bach Dang Ward, Ha Long City), owned by Ms. NTCL. At the time of inspection, it was discovered that the business household was trading in 8 food items that were smuggled goods, worth 5.3 million VND. The team temporarily detained all the goods, imposed a fine of 6 million VND and propagated to the store owner not to sell goods in violation of the law.

Or as before, through understanding the business situation on social networking platforms, it was discovered that a personal Facebook account named "Bui Huyen" posted an article introducing the sale of electronic cigarette machines. Using professional measures, on September 23, 2024, at the lobby of the 1st floor, Ramada Apartment Building in Group 9, Area 4 (Tran Hung Dao Ward, Ha Long City), Market Management Team No. 5 coordinated with Ha Long City Police to conduct an administrative search of 2 packages of Mr. BTH (born in 1993, registered residence: Thanh Chung Residential Group, Phon Xuong Town, Yen The District, Bac Giang Province). Through inspection, a total of 187 electronic cigarette machines were discovered. The owner of the package confessed to buying it through an account holder in an electronic cigarette selling group on social networks to do business for profit. Continuing to review business entities on e-commerce platforms, on September 24 and 25, 2024, Market Management Team No. 5 coordinated with Ha Long City Police to inspect and handle 3 violations in the e-cigarette business, seizing 205 e-cigarette machines and 268 bottles of essential oils used for smoking e-cigarettes, estimated to be worth over 50 million VND. Market Management Team No. 5 completed the file to fine violators with a total fine of 27 million VND and forced the destruction of e-cigarette products according to the law.

By actively implementing measures to inspect and control the area, since the beginning of the year, Market Management Team No. 5 has inspected 232 establishments, detected and handled 208 cases/242 acts/208 subjects, an increase of 58.7% in the number of inspections compared to the same period; imposed a total fine of over 5.4 billion VND, an increase of 99.1% compared to the same period. Of which, 82 cases of food safety violations were handled, with a fine of over 626 million VND; 9 cases of violations in trading and smuggling of cigarettes were inspected and handled, with a fine of 85 million VND; 10 cases/13 acts related to N2O gas, shisha, and electronic cigarettes were detected and handled, with a fine of 132.8 million VND, and the value of destroyed goods was 142 million VND...

Ms. Dinh Tuyet Nhung, Captain of Market Management Team No. 5, said: To control the market well, especially at the end of the year, Market Management Team No. 5 has stepped up the development and implementation of peak plans against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the area.
