The working program in China of the Vietnam Ethnic Minority Committee delegation aims to discuss and agree to continue implementing the Cooperation Agreement between the Vietnam Ethnic Minority Committee and the Chinese State Ethnic Minority Committee signed in 2023; discuss the implementation of ethnic policies in the locality; discuss cooperation programs in education, training, and scientific research.
High-level talks between the Vietnam - China Ethnic Council
In Beijing, China on December 3, the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnam Ethnic Minority Committee led by Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman Y Thong had a meeting with Vice Chairman of the Chinese Ethnic Minority Committee Guo Weiping.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the State Council of China Guo Weiping shared the achievements in the field of ethnic work of the Chinese State. He said that under the strong leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, China's ethnic work has achieved new historical achievements, and the people of all ethnic groups in China are promoting Chinese-style modernization through the unity of the great Chinese nation.
Vice Director of the State Committee for Ethnic Affairs of China Guo Weiping emphasized that the agencies in charge of ethnic affairs of China and Vietnam have had close exchanges and practical cooperation, and have worked together to promote the cooperation agreement into practice and achieve results. The State Committee for Ethnic Affairs of China wishes to work with the Vietnam Committee for Ethnic Affairs to further deepen the exchange of experiences in ethnic affairs management; carry out educational and humanitarian activities; promote people-to-people exchanges, and actively contribute to the building of a community of shared future between China and Vietnam.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Ethnic Minority Committee Y Thong expressed his impression of the results that China's ethnic affairs sector has achieved in recent years. The Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman also shared and introduced some of Vietnam's ethnic policy situations, expressing his wish to actively promote the exchange of experiences in ethnic affairs management with the Chinese State Ethnic Committee.
The meeting took place in a friendly and open atmosphere. Many contents, results as well as experiences in implementing state management of ethnic affairs were shared and discussed by both sides, opening up contents and directions for more effective cooperation in the future.
Courtesy call to the Director of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission of China
On December 4, a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnam Ethnic Minority Committee paid a courtesy visit to Chairman of the Chinese Ethnic Minority Committee Phan Nhac and discussed issues of mutual concern.
At the meeting, Chairman of the State Committee for Ethnic Minorities of China Phan Nhac and Deputy Minister, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Committee for Ethnic Minorities Y Thong discussed a number of contents related to the scholarship program for students from ethnic minority areas to study in China; continuing to concretize the signed Cooperation Agreement through delegation exchange activities at all levels; strengthening cultural exchange and cooperation between ethnic minority areas along the border.
Many meaningful activities took place in China
Within the framework of the working program in China, the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnam Ethnic Minority Committee has had and will have further meetings with the comrades in charge of the Department of Policy and Law, the Department of Education and the Department of International Cooperation of the State Ethnic Minority Committee of China; visited the Exhibition of Ancient Books Fostering the Consciousness of the Chinese Ethnic Community; paid a courtesy call to the Chairman of the Xinjiang Autonomous Region People's Political Consultative Conference; worked with Xinjiang University; worked with the Museum of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
In addition to the working sessions, the Vietnamese delegation also had field trips to the Co Nguyen Alley Community in the Thien Son District and Thien Tri Lake in the Xinjiang Autonomous Region; to learn about Chinese culture and history...
On December 7, the delegation ended their working trip and left Beijing to return to Hanoi.
