DTO - The people of Dong Thap have a tradition of ardent patriotism, a spirit of steadfast and indomitable struggle against foreign invaders, creating "the battles of Dong Thap Muoi that made the enemy lose their souls". It is the spirit of patriotism that enabled the people of Dong Thap to steadfastly protect the border and help the Cambodian people escape the disaster of genocide. Nowadays, patriotism is not only about firmly protecting the country's borders, sovereignty and political regime, but more importantly, it is about making the Fatherland eternal, building a rich, strong and civilized homeland and country.

Along with that, the province implemented Resolution No. 06 dated December 31, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on building a culture and people of Dong Thap that are affectionate, dynamic, and creative (abbreviated as Resolution No. 06) which has received strong support from the entire political system, spreading widely in the community to enrich cultural life at the grassroots level. In particular, the implementation of 9 standards of Dong Thap people including: "Patriotism, solidarity, honesty, self-reliance, diligence, cooperation, affection, dynamism, creativity" further concretizes the construction of the image of Dong Thap people who are affectionate, dynamic, and creative.

Among the 9 standards of Dong Thap people, patriotism is the first standard mentioned, playing an important role as a foundation in the elements that make up the standards of Dong Thap people. To successfully implement Resolution No. 06, as well as widely propagate the 9 standards of Dong Thap people, is the task of the entire political system and all classes of people. In which, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers are the core force with a very important role, pioneering in implementing the spirit of patriotism, self-respect, national pride, building and protecting the homeland, a rich, strong, civilized country.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, recently, the 9 standards of Dong Thap people have been included in many activities, organizing cultural and artistic events, sports, family and tourism in the province. Thereby, the standards are widely disseminated to the people, contributing to raising awareness and creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere, the unique cultural features of the people in the homeland of the Pink Lotus Land. Typically, the Provincial Center for Culture and Arts implements the model of "Bringing cultural activities to the grassroots" through competitions, performances, and training courses. In previous years, competitions and performances were performed and summarized in Cao Lanh City. In 2024, the Provincial Center for Culture and Arts advised the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to coordinate with localities: Hong Ngu City, Sa Dec City and Thanh Binh District to organize the opening ceremony and performance. Thereby, enriching cultural activities at the grassroots level, serving the spiritual and cultural life of the people, especially those in remote, rural and border areas.

In particular, the patriotic spirit of “for the flag and the colors” of the athletes of the Land of the Red Lotus has achieved many outstanding results when competing in regional and international tournaments. Notably, athlete Tran Thi Ngoc Yen won 2 Silver Medals at the World Championship, ASIAD Gold Medal in Sepak Takraw; athlete Nguyen Thi Bich Tram won 1 Gold Medal, 2 Silver Medals, 1 Bronze Medal at the World Championship in Sepak Takraw...

In addition, the patriotism of the cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers is also reflected in the spirit, responsibility for work, enthusiasm, research and creativity in assigned tasks; advising the leaders of agencies and units to effectively implement policies and tasks on culture, family, sports and tourism. Along with that, continuing to develop tourism promotion associated with preserving and promoting the values ​​of cultural heritage, historical - cultural relics, cultural institutions contributes to building the image of culture and people of Dong Thap.

Officials, civil servants, public employees and workers are important factors in building the country. Promoting the role of officials, civil servants, public employees and workers in implementing the "patriotic" standard not only helps each individual to improve but also contributes significantly to the development of the country, towards a civilized and prosperous society. This is an important task that needs to be carried out regularly and long-term to build a culture and people of Dong Thap who are affectionate, dynamic and creative. It is not only the responsibility of the culture, sports and tourism sector but also the common task of sectors, fields and people of all walks of life, in which it is necessary to focus on promoting the role of officials, civil servants, public employees and workers to preserve and promote good culture, contributing to making the Land of Pink Lotus increasingly strong and rich in cultural identity.
