Comrade Luu Van Trung assessed that the first breakthrough is to focus on developing urban and rural infrastructure to promote economic and social development.

"Gia Nghia has improved the quality of planning work; mobilized all resources for urban development. This goal is very accurate and correct," comrade Luu Van Trung emphasized.

According to comrade Luu Van Trung, Gia Nghia had a low starting point, with almost no economy or infrastructure. Gia Nghia was built to what it is today thanks to great efforts.

"Making new clothes is always easier than patching clothes. Gia Nghia urban area is almost "making new clothes" and we have our own advantages", comrade Luu Van Trung shared.

In the middle of the last term, Gia Nghia City mobilized to develop infrastructure and gradually completed it in a synchronous, modern and civilized direction.

Many technical infrastructure works such as medium and low voltage power grid systems, urban roads, and rural traffic have been upgraded, repaired, and made clean and beautiful. Social technical infrastructure works have received investment attention.

In the past time, Gia Nghia has mobilized investment to build, upgrade and repair 28 traffic works and social infrastructure works. Up to now, the rate of hardening urban roads in the area has reached 100%.

The rate of hardening rural roads has reached 65.75%, exceeding the target set in the resolution for the entire term. The city has completed the construction of new rural areas in 2020 and continues to direct the construction of advanced and exemplary new rural areas.

In recent years, many of the city's targets have been achieved very well, much higher than the province's. In particular, the city's budget revenue has increased by an average of 13.48% annually (the resolution sets an annual increase of 12%).

Regarding the direction of Gia Nghia urban development, comrade Luu Van Trung emphasized: “Planning work must be good. We must affirm that planning is not good and planning management is not good either. If we want to make this breakthrough well, we must do planning work well.”

According to comrade Luu Van Trung, to do a good job of attracting investment, there must be a land use plan. Gia Nghia needs to come up with solutions for urban development.

“The Provincial Party Standing Committee has given instructions! Gia Nghia urban area is a green urban area - houses in the city, city in the forest! Stick to that orientation for planning. The planning must be implemented urgently," Comrade Luu Van Trung directed.

According to the leader of Gia Nghia City People's Committee, in the coming time, the locality will continue to mobilize resources to invest in building technical infrastructure for economic and social development.

The city is calling for investment in building urban and residential areas. In particular, the city is particularly interested in promoting urban infrastructure investment using loans from the ADB Bank.

Although it has only been two and a half years since the Resolution of the 12th City Party Congress was implemented, Gia Nghia has exceeded 16 targets and achieved 15 targets for the entire 5-year term. The city has yet to achieve 12 targets, which are expected to be achieved during the term. The city's economy has grown quite well and dynamically, contributing to affirming its role as the province's socio-economic center.
