Suspend a group of students who beat up a friend and broke his cervical vertebrae

On November 21, Mr. Dang Van Hung, Principal of Nong Cong 2 High School, Nong Cong District (Thanh Hoa) said that after the incident of a group of students participating in a gang beating, the school held a disciplinary council meeting and imposed a disciplinary measure of suspension on 3 students who directly participated in the beating, the suspension period is 2 weeks, from November 19 to December 2.

"After the incident, the school also suspended the group of students for a few days to serve the investigation of the police. Currently, based on Circular 32, the school has held a disciplinary council meeting and decided on a form of handling according to its authority. Currently, the case is still being investigated by the police and the results have not been announced to the school yet," Mr. Hung added.

Information from the family of the beaten female student said that since being beaten, the female student's health is still weak, her neck must be immobilized and she still cannot walk normally.

Due to waiting too long for the results from the district police, on November 18, 2024, the family of the beaten female student sent a petition to the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police requesting direction, investigation, and early conclusion after the incident.

Previously, Tien Phong newspaper reported that, according to verification from Nong Cong 2 High School, Nong Cong District (Thanh Hoa), on October 4, 2024, a female student of class 10A6, while returning from school, saw a female student of class 10A5 walking behind her talking and laughing with another friend. The female student of class 10A6 thought that her friend was talking badly about her, leading to an argument.

On the afternoon of October 5, after school, the two female students continued to argue and fight. Afterwards, the school security broke up the group and the students left. However, when they reached Tan Phuc commune, a fight broke out.

Consequences: an 11th grade female student (when intervening to stop a group of friends from fighting) was beaten up and seriously injured (broken cervical vertebra number 2), and had to be transferred to Viet Duc Hospital for treatment. After a period of treatment at Viet Duc Hospital, the female student was transferred to Hop Luc General Hospital (in Thanh Hoa) for further monitoring and physical therapy. After more than 1 month, the female student's health has not yet recovered enough to return to school.
