On November 16, in Song Doc town, Tran Van Thoi district, Ca Mau province, a kite flying festival took place. This is one of the activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the regrouping to the North (1954-2024).
Mr. Tran Cong Minh (residing in Sa Dec City, Dong Thap Province) said that members of the Sa Dec City Flower Kite Club brought 60 kites to participate in this activity.
“Among the kites brought to Ca Mau this time, there are 13 with typical images of provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, the national flag… We made the kites ourselves using materials such as bamboo, fabric… at a cost of nearly 1 million VND/kite (depending on the type)” – Mr. Minh shared.
Meanwhile, Ms. Tran Thi An (39 years old; resident of Tran Van Thoi district) said that this was the first time the largest coastal town in the Mekong Delta had held a Kite Flying Festival. “I brought my children to see it, and they were all excited to see and experience flying “giant” kites,” Ms. An said with a smile.
