On the afternoon of March 20, the Bac Lieu Coastal Protection Forest Management Board coordinated with the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department (PCCC) and Rescue Police Department (CNCH) - Provincial Police, Nha Mat Ward People's Committee (Bac Lieu City), Vinh Hau A Commune (Hoa Binh District) to conduct a fire fighting drill at Bac Lieu Bird Garden in 2025.

Accordingly, the hypothetical situation is that visitors throw cigarette butts into a pile of dry leaves, causing a fire. Due to the large amount of combustibles and even distribution, the fire quickly spread, with the risk of spreading to neighboring lots. The forest fire prevention team, Bac Lieu Coastal Protection Forest Management Board, after receiving the report of a fire, quickly used gongs and loudspeakers to notify all employees and tourists of the situation and request emergency evacuation. At the same time, mobilize forces and means on site to participate in fire fighting; notify professional fire fighting forces. Upon receiving the report, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police mobilized forces, sent 2 vehicles to participate in fire fighting, and proceeded to extinguish the fire in the fastest time, ensuring safety.

The drill aims to raise the sense of responsibility of cadres, workers, tourists and people living near the Bac Lieu Bird Garden special-use forest in forest fire prevention and control during the dry season; to understand the features and effects of fire-fighting equipment equipped on-site, and to be ready to fight fires promptly and effectively when a fire occurs. Thereby, enhancing the ability to coordinate firefighting among forces; at the same time, training forest fire fighting techniques and tactics for cadres, soldiers, workers and command and control.

Mr. Le Chi Linh - Deputy Director of the Bac Lieu Coastal Protection Forest Management Board, said: The Management Board has established a forest fire forecasting team, regularly monitoring weather developments and measuring forest fire forecast levels, and at the same time establishing command teams, patrol teams... to carry out patrolling, strict protection, and prevention of violations of regulations on forest management and protection, illegal hunting of wild animals; 24/24 rotating forest fire prevention and control; on duty at the fire watchtower during hot weather from 9am to 5pm every day. Along with that, equipped with 4 specialized fire fighting machines, 4 fire fighting machine transport carts, forest fire forecasting machines, forest fire forecasting signs, fire prevention channels nearly 450m long and 12m wide. Fire fighting vehicles and tools are always ready for operation. The Management Board of Bac Lieu Coastal Protection Special-Use Forests also focuses on promoting propaganda, patrolling, inspecting, and capturing information and developments in the forest area to take measures to prevent violations of forest fire prevention and control laws; developing and implementing a plan to coordinate with the Inter-District Forest Protection Department, the Mobile Forest Protection Team, and forest fire prevention and control in propaganda work on forest fire prevention and control.

After the drill, the forces organized to draw experience in fire prevention and fighting to protect the Bac Lieu Bird Garden Species and Habitat Conservation Area.
