Algeria's new Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui, 74, is a seasoned diplomat. He served as Algeria's Ambassador to Pakistan, Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League in October 2019, and led the Algerian negotiating team to finalize the Convention on the Delimitation of the Maritime Boundary with Tunisia, signed in Algiers in July 2011.
After finishing his term as Ambassador in Cairo, he became an advisor to Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra. His success in garnering support for Algeria's candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council reflected his diplomatic dexterity.
Prior to assuming the role of Director of Cabinet Affairs at the Algerian Presidency from 18 March 2023, Mr. Larbaoui served as Algeria's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, continuing to demonstrate extensive experience in the international arena.
