Young athlete Nguyen Thi Ngoc was the first runner. She finished 4th after 1 lap. Nguyen Thi Minh Hanh received the baton and had a spectacular acceleration, helping the Vietnamese women's team finish 3rd after 2 laps. Nguyen Thi Huyen was the third runner of the Vietnamese women's team. The athlete from Nam Dinh ran like "wind tore" past her Japanese opponent, leading the race.

The "locking" person for the Vietnamese quartet was Nguyen Thi Hang. Despite her limited physique compared to her opponents, Nguyen Thi Hang, with her extremely fast running steps, brought home a historic gold medal for the Vietnamese athletics team in the Asian arena, with a final result of 3 minutes 32 seconds 36. Previously at the 32nd SEA Games, this quartet of athletes won the championship with a result of 3 minutes 33 seconds 05.

Previously, athletes Nguyen Thi Thu Ha (women's 800m), Pham Thi Hong Le (women's 5,000m), Nguyen Trung Cuong (men's 5,000m), Nguyen Thi Oanh (women's 3,000m steeplechase) all competed unsuccessfully. Thus, after 4 days of competition at the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships, the Vietnamese athletics team won 1 gold medal and 1 bronze medal.
