As Dan Tri reported, after lunch on October 2, thousands of workers at Viet Glory Company Ltd. left en masse, refusing to work the afternoon shift. The workers’ petitions were then recorded by the union and forwarded to the company’s leadership for consideration and resolution.
According to the workers' feedback, the attitude of management staff is not appropriate; maternity benefits for female workers from the 7th month of pregnancy onwards are not guaranteed; the identification of hazardous workers and the hazardous allowance level are not appropriate; the production quota is too high; the welfare regimes are low...
Viet Glory Company Limited then issued two announcements, in which it affirmed that the basic salary paid to employees was higher than the regional minimum wage, and under current conditions, the basic salary for employees would not be increased.
The company also explained in detail the process of establishing labor and output standards currently applied to the company's employees, which are lower than those applied at other companies in the same group.
On October 7, after 5 days of collective work stoppage, workers still refused to return to work. They said that the current support levels for lunch, gas, seniority allowances, etc. are too low.
Viet Glory Company Limited is located in Dien Truong Commune, Dien Chau District (Nghe An), specializing in the production of leather shoes for export with more than 6,000 workers. This is the third collective work stoppage by workers since the company started operating in 2019.
