What proof is needed for university admission priority points and when to submit?

Candidates with regional and subject priority in university admission must declare accurate information, with evidence to receive extra points. Candidates who declare inaccurate information compared to evidence will be eliminated from the admission list if they do not meet the standard score.

Proof of bonus points when considering admission

Candidates registering for admission will declare a lot of information related to themselves, including the region and priority subjects.

Normally, the priority area will be determined by the Ministry of Education and Training's admission system when candidates declare their high school education location.

However, regarding priority subjects, candidates need to research and declare accurately and honestly. The admission system adds priority points to subjects based on the candidates' declaration and the university will check after the candidates enroll.

Depending on the priority subject, the requirements for evidence will be different. Specifically:

In admission, there are 4 regions: region 3 (no regional priority points added), region 2 is added 0.25 points, region 2 - rural area is added 0.5 points and the highest is region 1 is added 0.75 points.

According to regulations, candidates who study continuously and graduate in a region will receive priority according to that region. If they transfer schools during the 3 years of high school (or during the time studying at intermediate level), the longer the study time in the region will receive priority according to that region.

If each year you study at a school in different priority areas or half the time you study at one school and half the time at another school, then you will receive priority according to the area you graduate from high school in.

There are two priority groups. Priority 1 (plus 2 points) includes subjects 01 to 04 in the table above, the rest are priority 2 (plus 1 point).

A candidate can be awarded multiple priority points including region and subject if they belong to both of these categories.

However, the maximum priority score a candidate will receive is when their university admission score is 22.5 points or less. Above this level, the priority score will gradually decrease. Candidates who score 30 points will not receive priority points.

The formula for calculating priority points is as follows:

Priority points = [(30 – Total points achieved)/7.5] × Priority point level

As mentioned above, the proof of priority points will be checked by the university when the admitted candidate arrives for enrollment. Therefore, candidates need to prepare proof of priority points to submit to the university when coming to complete the enrollment procedures.

For the region, many universities require candidates to notarize their high school transcripts. For proof of priority, candidates must photocopy the proof and submit it to the school along with the original for comparison.

If it is discovered that a candidate has declared priority information that is not consistent with the evidence, leading to incorrect priority points being added, the candidate will be removed from the admission list if they do not meet the school's standard score.
