The landslide location on the left bank of the Red River is from K42+790 to K43+010 with a length of about 300m from the outlet of Van Khe pumping station (Van Khe commune, Me Linh district) downstream.

The leader of Van Khe Commune People's Committee said that the landslide on the left bank of the Red River in the above area occurred since storm No. 3. The incident caused cracks in houses, collapsed walls, and felled trees of 3 households living in the riverbank area of ​​Van Quan 1 village. The local government has put up warning signs at the landslide site to warn people and limit their access.

Ms. Lo Thi Ha (Van Quan 1 village) said that due to the landslide, her house was tilted and pulled towards the riverbank. In addition, the kitchen floor and the wall on the second floor were cracked. Her family had evacuated to a relative's house for more than a month, but recently had to return home because they could not stay there forever. Currently, the mother and her three children are living in the house while living in fear (photo: Ms. Ha's kitchen floor is cracked). Ms. Ha hopes that the local government will soon have a solution to support the relocation from the landslide area or resettlement so that her family can live in peace.

Faced with the above situation, the Hanoi People's Committee issued an Order to build the project "Emergency handling of landslides on the left bank of the Red River in Van Khe commune, Me Linh district" with a budget of 35 billion VND.

The project has a treatment length of about 300m from the outlet of Van Khe pumping station to the downstream. The construction time of the project is completed before May 30, 2025, completing the project in 2025.

The Hanoi People's Committee assigned the Me Linh District People's Committee to coordinate with relevant units to implement warning measures to ensure safety for people and vehicles participating in traffic on sunken and cracked dykes.

Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinates with Me Linh District People's Committee to implement appropriate reinforcement measures to limit the development of cracks and take measures to prevent rainwater from flowing into cracks and subsidence.
