In Truong Sa, An Bang Island is located in the South. An Bang has a very important position, being a bridge between the islands of Truong Sa archipelago and the oil and gas area located on the southern continental shelf of the Fatherland. On the island there is a lighthouse in the form of a round tower, 23m high. On the top of the lighthouse there is a light used to guide ships at night or in bad weather conditions. To reach the top of the lighthouse, we have to climb hundreds of steps of the spiral staircase inside the lighthouse. When reaching the top of the lighthouse, we can see a panoramic view of the area of dozens of nautical miles around the island.

From afar, An Bang Island stands out with its lighthouse and solid structures.

Mr. Duong Dinh Thanh - an employee of the East Sea and Islands Maritime Safety Assurance Company said that, like the islands of the Truong Sa archipelago, the weather in An Bang is very harsh, with frequent strong winds. The wind carries sea salt and continuously blows over the lighthouse. Therefore, to keep the lighthouse working well, the staff must clean and wipe the lamp and the glass frame surrounding the lamp every day to limit the salty sea air from causing humidity and damage to the equipment. With a scanning range of 16 nautical miles, An Bang lighthouse has become a symbol that helps fishermen easily locate our sea accurately and safely. From there, fishermen feel more secure when fishing far from shore, continuing to stick to the sea, and getting rich from the sea.

It is known that in addition to the lighthouse on An Bang Island, there are also lighthouses on the islands of Truong Sa, Song Tu Tay, Nam Yet, Sinh Ton, Son Ca, Da Tay, Da Lat, and Tien Nu in the Truong Sa archipelago. Over the past time, during construction and operation, these lighthouses have played a role in ensuring maritime safety for ships passing through the Truong Sa sea area - one of the important shipping routes in the East Sea region. At the same time, they are a symbol of resilience, demonstrating the presence of our army and people on the outpost islands, having national defense significance, contributing to protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
