Today (February 21), the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee announced the results of its 47th session, proposing to consider disciplining Mr. Duong Van Dong, Deputy Director of the Department of Transport, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Mong Thu, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, due to violations at the Saigon Driving Training Center.

Specifically, Mr. Dong was prosecuted by the Supreme People's Procuracy for "Abusing position and power while performing official duties", and Ms. Nguyen Thi Mong Thu was prosecuted for "Lack of responsibility causing serious consequences".

Based on the level and nature of the violations of party organization discipline and party members, the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee proposed that the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee consider and take disciplinary action against the above two individuals.

As reported by VietNamNet, in April 2023, the Department of Investigation Police for Economic Crimes, Corruption, and Smuggling (Ministry of Public Security) initiated a criminal case and prosecuted Ho Dinh Thai Hoa - Director of Saigon Driving Training Center to investigate the act of "Forgery in work".

The investigation agency also prosecuted and temporarily detained Mr. Bui Dinh Thoa (former Deputy Director of Saigon Driving Training Center) for the crime of "Giving bribes"; Mr. Dang Thai Han, former Deputy Director of Market Development of Saigon Driving Training Center, was prosecuted for the crime of "Forgery in work".

In the same case, Nguyen Thi My Nhan and Nguyen Nhan Cuong - two officials of the provincial Department of Transport were prosecuted and temporarily detained for the crime of "Receiving bribes".

Initial investigation results determined that the defendants had given and received bribes to ignore violations in driver training and testing, causing serious consequences.

The Saigon Driving Training Center issued more than 39,000 certificates in violation of regulations . The Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency determined that 63,458 driving students were people with rights and obligations related to the case of "Forgery in work, Bribery and Receiving bribes" that occurred at the Saigon Driving Training Center.
