Accordingly, option 1 has a length of 5.5km, the overpass section is more than 4.9km long with a design of 6 lanes, maximum speed of 80km/h.

The project includes completing the Vung Tau intersection and gate 11, with a total investment of more than 14,000 billion VND and an expected toll collection and capital recovery period of 24 years.

Option 2 has a length of 6.1km, the viaduct is more than 5km long, the scale is similar to option 1 but the total investment increases to about 15,000 billion VND, the toll collection period to recover capital lasts 25 years and 8 months.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha emphasized that this is an important project to reduce traffic congestion. However, it is necessary to choose the optimal solution, ensure reasonable investment level, fast progress, limit site clearance and shorten toll collection time.

In addition, Mr. Ha also suggested that investors should study 1-2 other options to have a basis for comparison. At the same time, Bien Hoa City People's Committee and related units need to review the planning to ensure consistency.

The Department of Transport is assigned to prepare working content with the Ministry of Construction on issues related to planning, public ownership of National Highway 51 and investment procedures under the PPP model.
