(NLDO) - Checking and handling illegal bus and bus stations to ensure traffic order and safety at the end of 2024


The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has just sent a document to the City Police, Thu Duc City People's Committee and districts requesting to strengthen inspection and handling of locations where buses pick up and drop off passengers in violation of regulations.

Previously, the Department of Transport Inspectorate reviewed and recorded that the whole city still had 79 points with illegal pick-up and drop-off activities (illegal buses and bus stations), a decrease of 5 points compared to July 2024.

Of which, District 1 has 8 points (notably Nguyen Thai Binh street with the operation of Toan Thang, Hoa Mai, Huy Hoang, Tam Hanh Travel, Huynh Gia, Anh Quoc, VieLimo).

Buses pick up and drop off passengers along Highway 1

District 5 has 18 gathering points on Nguyen Duy Duong, Hung Vuong, Su Van Hanh, Nguyen Chi Thanh, Tan Da, and Pho Co Dieu streets.

District 10 has 8 gathering points on Le Hong Phong, Dao Duy Tu, and Hung Vuong streets.

Tan Binh District has 7 points scattered on Ly Thuong Kiet, Bau Cat, Dong Den, Xuan Hong, Hoang Viet streets.

Thu Duc City has the most with 22 gathering points on National Highway 1, Kha Van Can Street, National Highway 13, Lien Phuong Street, in front of Suoi Tien tourist area.

According to the Department of Transport, based on Directive 22 of 2023 of the City Party Committee on strengthening the management of urban order in the city and official dispatches related to the handling of "illegal vehicles and bus stations" of the City People's Committee, the Department of Transport provides a list of 79 "illegal vehicles and bus stations" and requests the City Police, Thu Duc City People's Committee and districts to pay attention to inspecting and handling 79 "illegal vehicles and bus stations" and inform the results to the Department of Transport to synthesize and report to the City People's Committee.

Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a plan to strengthen the work of ensuring traffic order and safety for road transport business activities in the new situation in the area.

Accordingly, the City People's Committee assigned the Ho Chi Minh City Police to direct the Traffic Police Department, Thu Duc City Police and districts to increase patrols, control, and strictly handle violations related to the situation of "illegal buses, illegal stations", "disguised fixed-route buses", "shared buses, convenient buses", vehicles carrying more people than prescribed, overloaded vehicles, driving vehicles violating alcohol concentration...

The Department of Transport specifically directed the Department Inspectorate to coordinate with the police, traffic police and local authorities to focus on inspecting and handling violations of driving time, speed, technical safety conditions of vehicles, and transport business conditions, etc.
