Bild said Endo has received strong interest from Eintracht Frankfurt. If they secure a place in next season's Champions League, the Bundesliga side could make a move to sign Endo from Liverpool.
The German newspaper reported that Frankfurt sees Endo as a “real leader” for the midfield. Experience playing internationally and in the Bundesliga is a big plus for the Japanese player. In the past, he played 133 matches for Stuttgart.
This season, Endo has played 26 matches in all competitions for Liverpool. But under Arne Slot, the Japanese international is not sure of a starting position. At 32 years old, Endo also has difficulty competing with Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch or Szoboszlai in the midfield. Liverpool are said to be listening to all offers for Endo in the near future.
Endo's contract with Liverpool runs until 2027. The two sides have yet to agree on an extension. Liverpool rejected an £11.8m bid for Endo from Marseille last summer.
Despite not playing regularly under coach Slot, Endo has still won the hearts of Liverpool fans. He shared: "This season, when I am on the pitch, Liverpool fans always support me. They often leave comments on my personal page. I really feel the love from them."
During the recent international break, Endo became the first Liverpool player to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, after Japan's 2-0 win over Bahrain.
