Community Arts Training for Ethnic Minority Youth

Within 3 months (from September 28 to December 28), Dak Lak Ethnic Song and Dance Troupe organized a community art training class for ethnic minority youth in the province in the subjects of dance and traditional musical instruments.

The class has 24 students, who were selected by the Dak Lak Ethnic Dance and Song Troupe last July and August. Most of the students are young (from 12 to 18 years old), have talent, and favorable physical conditions, suitable for artistic training and future development.

For each subject, students have some basic skills. Regarding traditional musical instruments, most of them know how to use gongs, but not equally, in addition, a few also know how to use other traditional musical instruments such as: T'rung, Sao, Dinh pah... Regarding dance, most students have not participated in clubs, teams, groups, so they are still shy, and their grasp of the rules of movement is limited.

Students demonstrate their talents through performance in training classes.

At the training class, students will be trained by lecturers of the Dak Lak Ethnic Song and Dance Troupe in arts such as: musical knowledge, performance style, performance, work processing..., from which they can practice a complete and unique performance. After the training period, students will be given priority to become collaborators to participate in the Troupe's performance programs.

Through training courses, we contribute to preserving, conserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups in the whole province; encourage the creation of cultural and artistic values; nurture and foster artistic talents, improve the quality of art in the community, meet the cultural enjoyment needs of the people; build awareness and responsibility, especially among the young generation, in the work of preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values of the nation.

It is known that the 2023 community arts training selection program of the Dak Lak Ethnic Song and Dance Troupe has selected 43 students for training; of which 18 students are in traditional musical instruments and 25 students are in dance. The remaining students are expected to be trained in early 2024.
