Highly appreciate the pioneering press agency in streamlining and streamlining the apparatus

On March 26, Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia worked with leaders of five key political press agencies: Nhan Dan Newspaper, Communist Magazine, Vietnam News Agency (VNA), Voice of Vietnam (VOV), and Vietnam Television (VTV).

The conference aims to evaluate the work of reorganizing the apparatus, building the Project of the national key political press agency; evaluate the information and propaganda work to carry out political tasks in the past time and the key directions and tasks in the coming time; and prepare for activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).

Speaking at the conference, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that the press is the leading and decisive front for the Party to promote ideological and propaganda work in the new situation.

"The Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Prime Minister have given very strong instructions to the five key press agencies to be more determined, synchronous, and effective, and to exemplary implement Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW (Resolution 18). Not only streamlining, but most importantly, the results and effectiveness of ideological, propaganda, and press work" - Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia clearly stated.

The Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission also highly appreciated the great efforts of press agencies, especially key press agencies, in pioneering, strictly complying with and implementing in a short time the Party and State's policy on streamlining the organizational apparatus.

"The initial success of the organization of the press agency has been good, but we still need to continue to do better. The spirit is to continue to review the apparatus," emphasized the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department.

Sharing the opinions of leaders of key press agencies and the Vietnam Journalists Association on the difficulties and obstacles in organizing the apparatus and implementing political tasks, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia acknowledged and assigned functional units of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, to study, consider and report to competent authorities for resolution.

Regarding the tasks in the coming time, Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested that key press agencies need to participate more actively in providing and advising the Party and State on information on the world, regional and domestic situations in order to have correct and accurate assessments of advantages, difficulties and challenges, thereby proposing correct solutions and policies.

The authorities thoroughly grasp the direction of General Secretary To Lam and the Party and State leaders in renewing thinking and working methods, proactively providing information to the press, especially to key press agencies, to promptly have systematic and scientific information channels.

In addition, the leaders of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission also noted that press agencies need to propagate to contribute to the innovation of thinking and working methods of cadres in the political system; especially in continuing to implement the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus according to Resolution 18; organizing Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress; ensuring the mainstream information flow about revolutionary traditions, promoting the spirit of 50 years of national unification, arousing the aspiration to develop a peaceful, stable and prosperous country...

Regarding the preparation for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested that the celebration should create highlights, raise the level to a new level, go into depth, affirm a press with a 100-year tradition and convey messages for the next 100 years.

5 major press agencies reduce dozens of contacts

Director of the Press and Publication Department, Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Tong Van Thanh presented a report at the conference.

Reporting at the conference, Director of the Press and Publishing Department, Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Tong Van Thanh said that immediately after the Central Committee issued Resolution 18, the five key political press agencies urgently, seriously and resolutely carried out the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus; strictly implemented the policy of ending operations, transferring, receiving, and supplementing functions and tasks between units to develop and complete the Project to submit to the Politburo and the Government to issue decisions and Decrees on the apparatus organization and functions and tasks of each agency and unit.

Accordingly, the apparatus of Nhan Dan Newspaper after reorganization and streamlining the organization, reduced from 25 affiliated units to 15 units.

After streamlining and reorganizing its operational apparatus, the Communist Magazine has an Editorial Board and 13 affiliated department-level units; only retaining the department-level units in units that are truly necessary.

After the reorganization and organizational structure of VNA's affiliated units, the number of focal units at the department level and equivalent has been reduced by 4 units (from 26 to 22 units).

VOV after restructuring and streamlining the organization, reduced to 21 units, reduced 5 affiliated units.

After restructuring and streamlining the organization, VTV has reduced to 23 Board-level units (reduced by 6 Board-level units). VTV has taken over the functions and tasks of Nhan Dan Television, National Assembly Television, News Agency Television, VOV Television, and VTC Digital Television Station.
