In the 2020 - 2025 term, the Party Committee of the Political Department and the Political Academy closely followed the resolutions, directives and instructions of the superiors, the requirements of the political tasks of the Academy, focused on leading the agency to promote the spirit of solidarity, unity and creativity to comprehensively deploy and successfully complete the goals and tasks set by the Resolution of the Party Congress of the Department.

In the 2025 - 2030 term, the Party Committee of the Political Department determined: Focus on leading, directing innovation and improving the quality of staff work, proposing, directing and guiding the implementation of all aspects of Party and Political activities. Leading to promote, innovate comprehensively, synchronously and firmly, and complete all aspects of work well; improve capacity, promote responsibility, innovate leadership style, methods and working style of cadres and employees; well implement 2 breakthroughs: "Innovating and improving the quality of staff work, proposing, directing, guiding and organizing the implementation of all aspects of Party and Political activities" and "Promoting administrative reform and digital transformation", building a strong Party Committee of the Department in terms of politics, ideology, ethics, organization and staff; a strong Department in all aspects "exemplary, typical".

Vote to elect the Party Executive Committee of the Political Department for the 2025 - 2030 term..

Speaking at the congress, Major General, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ba Hung, Party Committee Secretary, Political Commissar of the Academy commended and acknowledged the results and maturity of the Party Committee of the Department in the past term; at the same time, he requested the Party Committee of the Political Department to continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the resolutions and directives of the Party Committees at all levels and the guidance of the superior agencies, closely follow the practical situation of the tasks of the Academy, focus on leading and directing to improve the quality of staff work, propose, grasp and implement the quality and effectiveness of the Party Committee and Political Department activities; build a united Party Committee, highly unified in will and action, constantly improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of Party Committees and Party cells; focus on building a contingent of cadres and party members, especially cadres in charge and commanding at all levels, with prestige, good moral qualities, qualifications, intelligence, capacity, leadership and management style equal to the tasks.

The Congress elected the Party Executive Committee for the new term and elected a delegation to attend the 17th Congress of the Academy Party Committee.

At the first conference, the Party Executive Committee of the Political Department elected the Party Secretary, Deputy Party Secretary, Party Inspection Committee, and Chairman of the Party Inspection Committee of the Political Department with a high number of votes of confidence. Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duong, Deputy Head of Political Department, was elected as Secretary of the Party Committee of the Political Department, Chairman of the Party Inspection Committee of the Political Department for the 2025-2030 term.

Immediately after the end of the congress, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the Academy drew on experience in organizing and conducting the congress, as a basis for organizing grassroots congresses at agencies, faculties and units in the Academy according to plan, procedures, principles and with good quality.
