Up to now, the whole province has consolidated 284 militia bases. Determining that "If you are good at mass mobilization, everything will be successful", the Provincial Military Command focuses on improving the quality of political and ideological education in this force in conjunction with promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle. Thereby raising awareness and correct motivation for emulation; 100% of militia and self-defense forces clearly identify their awareness and responsibility in performing their tasks, regularly innovating methods, content and forms of mass mobilization work.
Based on political tasks and practical situations, each unit develops plans and organizes the militia and self-defense force to carry out mass mobilization work with many creative methods. In particular, it closely links the implementation of local defense and military tasks with socio-economic development, contributing to consolidating the political system at the grassroots level. The militia and self-defense force actively coordinates to widely and deeply propagate to the people about the Party's guidelines, policies, laws of the State, and local regulations. Along with implementing the Party's resolutions and directives on mass mobilization work into life, the militia and self-defense force promotes the emulation movement "Skilled mass mobilization" and builds "Good mass mobilization units". Organize labor activities to help people, participate in movements launched by the Party, State, army, and locality; organize activities to visit, encourage and give gifts to families of policy beneficiaries and people with meritorious services. Many localities have built effective militia models for mass mobilization work, such as the model of: Propaganda, legal education; ensuring national defense, security, crime prevention and control; building new rural areas; hunger eradication and poverty reduction... in Muong Nhe, Nam Po, Dien Bien districts. The militia force has directly participated in activities of government building, consolidating the political system; hunger eradication and poverty reduction; policy work, military rear; flood prevention and control, search and rescue; patrolling, protecting political security, social order and safety; building new rural areas... Thanks to doing a good job of mass mobilization work, the militia force has made an important contribution to building and consolidating the grassroots political system, developing the economy, culture, society, consolidating national defense and security, building a "people's heart position" in a solid local defense area.
From 2020 to now, the whole province has mobilized over 1,200 militia and self-defense forces to participate in preventing and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters; mobilized more than 600 people to coordinate in patrolling and protecting borders and landmarks. During the Covid-19 pandemic, 1,416 militia and self-defense forces with nearly 12,500 working days were mobilized to participate in epidemic prevention and control checkpoints, contributing to limiting the spread of the disease. Thousands of militia and self-defense forces coordinated with localities and mass organizations to build houses for the poor and mobilize people to donate land for road construction. In particular, in the construction of new rural areas, thousands of kilometers of roads, irrigation canals, and cultural facilities were participated in by the militia and self-defense forces, in coordination with functional forces. Many roads to highland villages and hamlets were expanded by the militia and self-defense forces, creating favorable conditions for people to travel and develop production.
Through mass mobilization work, the militia and self-defense force has played a good role as a bridge between the Party, the government and the people, consolidating people's trust, and participating in building a strong local political base. The militia and self-defense force has clearly demonstrated its sense of responsibility to serve the people, continuing to promote the good nature of the armed forces, affirming the effectiveness and role of mass mobilization work in the locality. It can be affirmed that the mass mobilization work of the militia and self-defense force in the province has promoted the tradition of mass mobilization work of the Party. Through practical and specific actions, the militia and self-defense force has maintained and strengthened the solidarity between the army and the people, built a solid position of people's hearts, and contributed to the successful implementation of local defense and military tasks.
