Meanwhile, many households living and farming in areas such as Cu Jut district and Krong No district are also worried about the drought situation, especially at its peak from mid-March to July.

It is known that drought affecting crops in Dak Nong has been going on for many years, this is due to the sharp decline in groundwater levels. In 2024, Dak Nong experienced a severe dry season when drought raged in many areas. To cope with this situation, along with surveying and dredging to expand small ponds and reservoirs, in the long term, Dak Nong province has directed all levels and specialized units to promote forest management and protection activities, afforestation, and replication of agroforestry models to increase forest cover. This solution will reduce the decline in groundwater and surface water levels, and regulate temperature.

Along with that, according to the roadmap, from 2023 to 2030, Dak Nong province aims to convert over 8,500 hectares with 4 main crops including coffee, pepper, rubber, cashew that are not adapted or poorly adapted to grow potential crops, adapted to actual conditions in the localities...
