Dak Nong determined to soon start construction of Gia Nghia Expressway Project

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Ngo Thanh Danh emphasized the importance of the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway Project. This is a project that has been directed by the Party, agreed upon by the Government, agreed upon by the National Assembly, and supported by the People. Therefore, localities have raised their determination to implement it with the spirit of only discussing and doing, not retreating.

Over the past time, the Provincial Party Standing Committee has given strong and regular direction to the project. Provincial leaders have conducted field inspections and given regular direction to urge and accelerate the project's progress. Dak Nong's goal is to complete all preparations and organize the groundbreaking ceremony before April 30, 2025.

According to reports from departments and branches, the preparation work for the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway has received special attention from leaders of the two provinces. The units and localities assigned with tasks have actively and proactively coordinated to carry out the assigned tasks.

The highway passes through Dak Nong province for about 23km, of which about 19.5km passes through the Nhan Co bauxite mine area that has been surveyed and approved for reserves. For the licensed area, the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee has worked with the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group to speed up the site clearance process.

A representative of Dak Nong Aluminum Company - TKV said that the group has agreed with the request of the Provincial People's Committee. In the coming time, the enterprise will focus on exploiting within the licensed scope to soon hand over the site for the expressway project.

Regarding site clearance, Dak R'lap district has reviewed and determined to reclaim about 283 hectares of land from 715 households. It is expected that 205 households will be resettled and the total cost of site clearance will be about 662 billion VND.

Chairman of Dak R'lap District People's Committee Nguyen Quang Tu reported on the situation of propaganda and mobilization for site clearance for the expressway project.

In recent times, Dak R'lap district has proactively implemented steps to propagate and mobilize people whose land is recovered in the area where the expressway project passes through. After reviewing, people expressed high consensus on the construction of the expressway. Dak R'lap district proposed to choose the expressway area passing through Dak Ru commune to start construction on the upcoming April 30, 2025.

According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Trong Yen, the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway has received great support from the Central Government. At the working session on April 2, 2025 in Binh Phuoc, the leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment gave their opinions on removing difficulties related to minerals used as construction materials for the expressway.

Regarding the overlapping of bauxite areas, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has instructed the two localities to make specific proposals on the efficiency of recovery. This content is within the authority and the ministry affirmed that it will be resolved soon so that the expressway can be implemented soon.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Ngo Thanh Danh requested the Provincial People's Committee and units and localities to focus on completing all preparations. The goal is to start construction of the section through Dak Nong before April 30, 2025, meeting the requirements on time, scale, content and significance of the event in accordance with the direction of the Government and the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee.

All levels and sectors must continue to closely follow the direction of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, carry out tasks and take urgent actions.

The Provincial Party Secretary assigned the Dak R'lap District Party Committee to lead and direct the entire political system to participate in and focus on site clearance. The district urgently reviewed, disseminated, and mobilized people to support the project and comply with legal regulations. The goal is to ensure the site and necessary conditions for construction to start on time as required.

Comrade Ngo Thanh Danh requested units to be determined and resolute to soon start construction of the expressway section through the area before April 30, 2025.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi spoke to accept all the instructions of comrade Ngo Thanh Danh. The Provincial Party Committee focused on inspecting, urging, reminding, and regularly reporting on the progress of the groundbreaking ceremony and project implementation.

Every week, the Provincial Party Committee reports to the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Standing Committee on the implementation results, clearly stating the difficulties and proposing solutions. Dak Nong is determined to prepare all conditions for the expressway to start construction, deploy, complete and put into use soon.

Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway has a total length of more than 124km, of which more than 23km passes through Dak Nong province. The project was approved by the National Assembly in Resolution No. 138 dated June 28, 2024 with a total investment of VND 25,540 billion, invested in the form of public-private partnership (PPP). The project will clear the land according to the scale of 6 complete lanes. In phase 1, the project will be invested in phases according to the scale of 4 complete lanes, speed of 100 - 120km.
