In 2024, Hanoi University of Pharmacy plans to enroll 940 students through four methods and stop enrolling in high-quality programs.
On February 5, Hanoi University of Pharmacy announced that it will continue to enroll students in four majors: Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Chemistry, and Biotechnology with a total enrollment target of 940, a decrease of 20 compared to last year due to the suspension of enrollment for high-quality programs.
The school maintains 4 stable admission methods including: direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (method 1); combined consideration of high school transcripts with SAT, ACT certificates (method 2A) or consideration of academic results for specialized students (method 2B); based on the thinking assessment test scores of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (method 3) and high school graduation exam scores (method 4).
For admissions using a combination of high school transcripts and international standardized tests, candidates need to have an SAT score of 1350/1600 or ACT score of 30/36 for Pharmacy; a minimum SAT score of 1300 and ACT score of 27 for other majors. At the same time, candidates must have good academic performance for 3 years, with the academic results of grades 10, 11, and 12 of each subject in the admission group not lower than 8.
Admission score is the total score achieved plus converted priority points. In which:
Total score achieved = SAT score*90/1600 (or ACT score*90/36) + (Subject 1 + Subject 2 + Subject 3)/3.
Priority points converted = [(30 - Total points achieved/100*30)/7.5*Priority points]/30*100.
For students from specialized or gifted high schools, the admission requirements are three years of good academic performance in specialized classes in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology; the score for each year of each subject in the group must not be less than 8. The admission score for this group is the total average score of each subject plus the converted priority points and incentive points.
In the admission method based on the results of the thinking assessment test of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi University of Pharmacy only applies to the Pharmacy major. The required condition is that students achieve above 7 points in Math, Physics, Chemistry in three years of study. This condition also applies to the method of considering the results of the high school graduation exam for the Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry majors.
In all methods, the school will announce the input quality assurance threshold related to the high school graduation exam scores later.
Hanoi University of Pharmacy adds bonus points to candidates applying for admission under methods 2B, 3 and 4 if they have an IELTS certificate from 5.5 (add from 0.25 to 2 points) or win prizes in the provincial-level excellent student selection exam for grade 12 in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology; national-level bonus points (add from 0.25 to 1 point).
Admission criteria and combinations for each major of Hanoi University of Pharmacy are as follows:
In addition, Hanoi University of Pharmacy will recruit 30 students for the Pharmacy joint training program with the University of Sydney, Australia. Candidates admitted to the Pharmacy program will be able to register for this program if they have IELTS 6.5 or higher or equivalent. Candidates with IELTS 5.5 can still register but must commit to self-study to improve their level to achieve IELTS 6.5 at the time of transfer to Australia.
