Emphasizing the urgency of the issue of information security and safety, Associate Professor, Dr. Luong The Dung, Deputy Director of the Academy of Cryptography Engineering, said: In the context of the fourth industrial revolution and digital transformation, attacks on network systems, information theft, information leakage, and distortion... are taking place in a very complex, increasingly sophisticated and unpredictable manner, causing great damage in many aspects to each country.

Therefore, information security and safety requires the efforts and cooperation of many individuals, organizations and countries to be solved.

Mr. Luong The Dung also said that as a training and research unit on cryptography and information security under the Government Cipher Committee, the Cryptography Technical Academy is well aware that: In addition to the formal and serious training process to equip students with a systematic and in-depth knowledge and skills, competitions related to professional knowledge and skills are also a way to help students accumulate and apply knowledge and professional skills. Therefore, organizing playgrounds for students such as the national information security and safety competition CIS is a meaningful activity.

“This is the first time the contest has been held and is expected to be maintained annually. The contest aims to promote and disseminate awareness and responsibility for information security in training institutions; promote the movement of learning, research, cultivating, exchanging experiences, updating knowledge and modern technology in the field of information security. The contest also aims to discover talents, enhance the ability to exchange and share knowledge among students from schools across the country,” said a representative of the Organizing Committee of the CIS 2024 contest.
