[CYSEEX Q4/2024] 2024 Milestones: CYSEEX Steadily Steps on the Journey to Protect Cyberspace

On January 8, 2025, the event "CYSEEX Information Security Exercise Summary Quarter 4 and Summary of 2024" took place in Hanoi . This important event aimed to evaluate the results of operations in the last quarter of the year, summarize the achievements of 2024 and outline the direction of operations for the Alliance in 2025. Alliance members demonstrated high determination, ready to conquer all set goals.

The CYSEEX Exercise event is held monthly with the following key objectives:

• Evaluate and test the response capabilities of the exercise unit against external attacks.
• Improve capacity and expertise in cyber attacks and build effective defense systems for Information Security (SSS) and Information System Management (ISM) teams.
• Enhance the ability to coordinate information security between units and specialized organizations in responding to cyber attacks.

Every quarter, the CYSEEX Alliance holds a meeting to evaluate the results of the exercise, to draw lessons, update the latest information security knowledge and improve the capacity of its members.

At the event, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hoang - Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of MISA Joint Stock Company - Chairman of the Alliance shared the alliance's operational orientation in 2025 and brought interesting stories about information security, providing valuable knowledge and experience to members.

In the fourth quarter of 2024, MISA, Viettel Solutions and Bao Viet jointly hosted the CYSEEX Exercise. With fierce competitions between the attacking and defending teams, the exercise found the best teams with the following results:

Within the framework of the program, Mr. Vu Xuan Hai - RedTeam Leader, Representative of Mobifone Corporation, had a very in-depth sharing on the topic: System Hardening Standards. System Hardening is the process of enhancing the security of computer systems by minimizing security vulnerabilities and potential weaknesses. The main goal of system hardening is to minimize the risk of cyber attacks, unauthorized access and other malicious acts. This process includes configuring the system securely, removing unnecessary services, patching known security vulnerabilities and applying other security measures. The sharing affirmed the essential role of system hardening in preventing security risks.

The Q4 summary ceremony concluded a year of effective operation of the CYSEEX Alliance, while opening up new opportunities with many challenges in the context of increasingly complex cyber security. The 2025 information security exercise series will continue to be a solid foundation for experts to develop their expertise, become pioneers in the field of security, and together build an increasingly stronger and more comprehensive security system.
