On March 28, Da Nang Museum located at 42-44 Bach Dang Street officially opened to the public to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Da Nang City Liberation Day (March 29, 1975).
The new Da Nang Museum was invested with 504 billion VND to be built on an area of over 8,600m², including 1 museum block with 1 basement, 3 upper floors, technical infrastructure system, synchronous green landscape connected to Doc Ly building.
This is a project of special cultural and historical significance to the city because the 42 Bach Dang Building was formerly the Governor's Office and Da Nang City Hall. The building itself is also a "time symbol" of Da Nang, built during the French colonial period and is now 125 years old.
Building 42 Bach Dang was originally the workplace of Tourane Governors. Through many stages of construction and development, this building was once the headquarters of the People's Committee of Quang Nam - Da Nang province, the People's Committee and the People's Council of Da Nang city.

In addition to new technologies, the new Da Nang Museum also applies the Luna robot model as a virtual assistant to guide visitors to explore and experience the museum space.
"With new display technologies applied along with 9 major themes displayed in a seamless space between the old and new buildings, we hope this will be a symbol of connection between the past and the present.
At the same time, we hope this will become a red address, a unique architectural highlight, imbued with historical and cultural values on the banks of the Han River," said Mr. Thien.
