One of the activities that the Board of Directors and teachers of Vinschool Primary School (Ba Dinh District, Hanoi) are interested in implementing in the first days of the 20224-2025 school year is training in propaganda skills on fire prevention, fighting, rescue and first aid.

Specifically, on October 8, the school organized a fire prevention and fighting drill to help students and teachers in the school have the opportunity to practice escape skills when a fire or explosion occurs. Teachers and students were equipped and updated with a lot of knowledge and skills to handle situations when a fire or explosion occurs at school; escape skills for students in fire conditions; instructions on how to use fire extinguishers; first aid techniques for victims; dissemination of fire alarm phone numbers...

Through the drill, students not only practice the necessary skills to ensure their own safety but also raise awareness and responsibility for fire prevention and fighting at home, school and society.

In order to propagate and educate school staff, teachers and students to be aware of the provisions of the law on security and order, fire prevention and fighting, traffic safety, etc., Ha Dong High School and Mo Lao Ward Police (Ha Dong District, Hanoi) have signed a program to propagate and disseminate legal education in schools for the 2024-2025 school year. Accordingly, Mo Lao Ward Police will guide and disseminate legal education, life skills, and crime prevention skills so that students, staff and teachers of Ha Dong High School can properly exercise their rights and obligations according to the provisions of the law on ensuring security and order, improving the effectiveness of ensuring political security and social order and safety.

According to Lieutenant Colonel To Trung Dung - Deputy Chief of Ha Dong District Police, in order for the signing program to achieve high results, there needs to be close coordination between the ward police forces with the Board of Directors and parents of students; thereby being proactive in checking and controlling the entire program, ensuring the goals and educational purposes set out. From the pilot model at Ha Dong High School, it will be replicated and spread to other schools in the district.

At My Dinh 2 Primary School (Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi), more than 1,700 students and teachers participated in a drawing contest on environmental protection in schools - the theme "Green School". This is an opportunity for students to express and share their thoughts, stories, and environmental issues that they care about; thereby spreading good actions and good stories to join hands in protecting the environment, especially the school environment.

Organizing useful experiential activities to teach life skills to students is the method that Hoang Hoa Tham Secondary School (Ba Dinh District, Hanoi) is implementing. In class 8A2, an experiential lesson on the topic "Home Economics" recently took place. Accompanying the class were homeroom teacher Pham Phuong Thao and Ms. Viet Ha, a parent of a student. The students were guided and introduced to household chores such as planning personal spending and managing family finances, and housework such as trimming vegetables and fruits, decorating the Mid-Autumn Festival tray, making star lanterns, etc.

With activities that are close and practical in life, students can express their interests, identify their own abilities, prepare each ingredient themselves, put their efforts into completing the product, present and share the results of their labor in front of the class...

Equipping students with useful life skills not only helps them study more effectively but also enhances their initiative, confidence, creativity, and ability to apply knowledge and skills to respond to and solve problems in school and life. This is what education today is doing: Learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together, and learning to assert oneself.

One of the key tasks of this school year set by the Ministry of Education and Training is to continue to strengthen life skills education for students.

Inheriting the achievements of the 2023-2024 school year, the Ministry pointed out that educational institutions should effectively organize and implement the work of educating revolutionary ideals, political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, and life skills in schools with many solutions, through diverse, practical activities, suitable to the actual conditions at the facility.

According to the assessment of the Ministry of Education and Training, up to now, 100% of the Departments of Education and Training have innovated the content of the program, the form of organizing teaching and learning, testing and evaluating subjects, educational activities on revolutionary ideals, ethics, cultural lifestyle, life skills for students are integrated into the subject program and extracurricular educational activities, experiential activities, collective activities in the direction of reducing pressure on students, teachers and parents.

Teaching combined with practice helps to promote students' qualities and abilities, and at the same time helps them apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired during their studies to solve problems in real life.
