Xuan Son National Park is a place with high biodiversity value, where endemic flora and fauna species, valuable genetic resources, and valuable ecosystem standard samples are preserved in the country as well as in the world. In recent years, Xuan Son National Park has coordinated with domestic and foreign organizations and individuals to conduct surveys and investigations to assess the diversity of the flora here. During the implementation process, many rare and valuable plant species have been investigated and discovered, which are valuable in terms of economy and conservation. On the other hand, based on the survey results, measures have been proposed to delimit, protect, conserve, and promote the value of rare plant species. With the results of surveys in each stage, Xuan Son National Park has discovered and added many new plant species to the Park's flora list, supplementing the flora list of Vietnam and the world.

Phu Tho Provincial Forest Rangers focus on forest management and protection, contributing to the conservation and development of biodiversity in Xuan Son National Park.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Cuong - Director of Xuan Son National Park said: "Xuan Son National Park is a place of high biological value, with many benefits not only for the local community but also brings great value in protecting the ecological environment, serving education, scientific research, ecotourism, resorts, providing forest products, precious medicinal resources..."

Not only in Xuan Son National Park, the work of preserving, developing and promoting the values of natural resources is also of interest to localities. In Di Nau commune, Tam Nong district, to protect the 10ha lim forest with over 300 rare ancient lim trees, the district Forest Protection Department and local authorities have stepped up propaganda and mobilized people to raise their sense of responsibility in forest management and protection, closely coordinated with functional forces to increase patrols and controls to prevent and fight forest fires, and promptly handle cases of illegal trading, exploitation and transportation from the forest, especially ancient lim forests.

Along with that, promote tree planting and forestation to preserve biodiversity. Every year, the program "Tet tree planting to forever remember Uncle Ho" receives positive responses from cadres, party members and people. Specialized sectors and localities together inform, propagate and mobilize people to plant trees, raise endemic native animals and wild animals, contributing to the conservation of rare genetic resources.

Recognizing the great role and significance of biodiversity, in recent times, the province has made many efforts to maintain and conserve natural resources and biodiversity. Implementing the Law on Biodiversity and documents guiding the implementation of the law, the province has directed relevant departments, branches and sectors to disseminate and propagate the law on biodiversity in particular, raising awareness of biodiversity conservation in general for management subjects at district, commune and community levels in the area. At the same time, directing agencies, branches and sectors to perform functions and tasks of biodiversity management in the area, strengthening inspection, examination and handling of violations in the field of biodiversity conservation, forest protection, protection of aquatic resources; investing resources to implement many programs and research projects on biodiversity conservation...

In addition, Phu Tho has developed a plan for nature and biodiversity conservation for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, integrated into the provincial planning with the goal of protecting the value of ecosystems, species, and rare genetic resources in the area, contributing to the orientation and development of sustainable socio-economic development policies. At the same time, the province has developed a plan to implement the Project "Strengthening the prevention and combat of biodiversity crimes to 2030, with a vision to 2050" according to Decision No. 1623/QD-TTg, dated December 27, 2022 of the Prime Minister approving the Project "Strengthening the prevention and combat of biodiversity crimes to 2030, with a vision to 2050".

On that basis, key groups of solutions have been proposed, including: Raising awareness and sense of responsibility of agencies, organizations and individuals in complying with the law on biodiversity; proactively grasping the situation of crimes and law violations related to biodiversity on key routes, areas and fields; mobilizing the combined strength of the entire political system and people at the grassroots level to carry out conservation work, prevent crimes and law violations related to biodiversity protection, while improving capacity to serve the prevention and control of crimes and law violations related to biodiversity protection.

Thanks to that, up to now, the locality has identified the genetic resources of rare livestock and crop breeds to have appropriate planning, conservation and development solutions, minimizing threats to biodiversity and minimizing the impact of climate change.
